We had a 40 minute wait for bar seats and he came over and asked if we wanted a drink while we waited. That is attentiveness at its best! Beautiful atmosphere. Also, I like how everything is paced when ordering. I would rather it be slow than fast. We like to enjoy the experience and not be rushed. The grilled chicken was a little dry but everything else was fantastic. Avvio never disappoints. Roger
- JVJames VerityJan 4, 20264.0We were received with a warm and pleasant reception and brought directly to our table. Mitchell was our server, and he was fantastic. There were 4 of us for dinner. Cocktails were spot on. Good wine selection, and appropriate for the style of dining and price point. had the "Avio Salad", as an appetizer, and it was yummy. The complementary roasted garlic/olive oil that comes with the focaccia was also yummy! Of the 4 entrees, 3 were delicious, tasty, and cooked perfectly. Mine, the "Bucatini con Fungi", was not so good. I expected a nice clean mushroom flavor, and it got "walked on" by the tomato paste/sauce they added, making it "muddy". It lost the clean mushroom flavor. I will try something different next time. I am a big fan of the Newport Restaurant Group, and think they have some of the highest quality restaurants in Rhode Island, so I'm staying a "frequent flyer". I won't let one "off" dish stop me from dining in their establishments. AND FOR THE RECORD, GOOGLE THINKS THIS IS A HOTEL. NOT TOO SMART GOOGLE. ITS A STAND-ALONE RESTAURAT!

- JRJim RDec 15, 20252.0Every time we come here, we’re told there’s a wait. It could be at 5 on a Monday, or 2 on a Sunday- it doesn’t matter. I look out, and over 50% of the tables are empty. It’s 5 o’clock. I don’t want to hear that they’re not fully staffed- Covid is long over with. I swear they try to create their own demand. Yet- it’s my own fault because I came back once again.
