My husband and I stopped in to shop, and I decided to order two Pumpkin Spice Lattes—one with regular milk for myself and one with almond milk for him. The store was busy, and the team let me know they were out of whipped cream, which I said was fine. When the drinks came out, one was noticeably lighter than the other. I assumed it might be due to the different milks, but when I opened mine, it was mostly foam and did not taste like a PSL at all. It was sour, not sweet, and very unpleasant. Since I had paid nearly $7, I decided to return to the counter and ask if the drink could be remade. When I got to the register, I politely explained that my drink didn’t taste right. The manager or supervisor stepped in and asked what was wrong with the drink. After I told her it wasn’t sweet and didn’t taste like a PSL, she removed the lid and said, “Well, she drank half of it.” to the employees and me. That comment was both inaccurate and insulting. The drink had never been full to begin with, and I certainly wouldn’t waste time standing in line if I had simply consumed half. She remade the drink but did so with clear frustration, and her tone came across as unprofessional. She even asked if I wanted whipped cream, despite previously saying they were out. As someone who also works in customer service, I found this behavior unacceptable. I wasn’t rude, I wasn’t angry—I simply wanted the drink I paid for to taste as it should. I understand it was a busy holiday, but that does not excuse dismissive or unprofessional conduct, especially from a supervisor. I have never had an issue at this or any Starbucks before, but after this experience, I will not be purchasing coffee from here again while shopping at this location. I wish I avoided the whole experience all together.
