I do not frequent Chipotle due to a cilantro allergy, but I decided I’d try the new location after hearing from a friend who said “it was the best service i’ve gotten from a Chipotle in State College”. I’ve heard conflicting things about the other stores in the area, so I decided to give it a try. It’s always a hassle to get rice without cilantro at other locations, typically meaning a long wait time for my meal. This location had my meal in my hands quicker than any other location I’ve been to. A little disappointed that the new chicken al pastor has cilantro in it, but the regular chicken is good enough. High quality food, service, and atmosphere.

I, Demetrius Long Legs Freeman Jr., do hereby present my most curious account of an establishment known as Chipotle, a house of victuals most peculiar to my refined sensibilities. Upon entering, I was greeted not by a servant, but by a line of hungry townsfolk shuffling forward as though awaiting rations in a most orderly fashion. The attendants behind the counter, swift of hand and stern of brow, assembled my meal before my very eyes an act both mesmerizing and mildly alarming, as though I were witnessing culinary sorcery. I requested a bowl, for I deemed it the most noble vessel, and was bestowed a portion so bountiful it might have sustained a small cavalry. The rice was plentiful, the meats were seasoned with great enthusiasm, and the guacamole though at an additional tariff was of such quality that I momentarily forgave the surcharge, albeit with a heavy heart. Yet I must confess, the wrapping of burritos remains an art not yet perfected in this establishment, for I observed several specimens collapse under their own ambition. In conclusion, this Chipotle is a place of great promise and hearty portions, though one must approach with both appetite and coin purse prepared. I shall return, provided my legs long as they are can carry me once more to its doors. Yours in both hunger and satisfaction, Demetrius Long Legs Freeman Jr.

After today's visit, I gave up on finding a good Chipotle in this town. Downtown store doesn't know how to make rice; the North Atherton one can't fill up a bowl. This store was so chaotic that it's almost comedic to watch. I ordered 3 of those limeade drinks on the app. Got to the store, all of them were out, and the front desk staff informed me the manager refused to give me a refund. Then they said they were making drinks, which should be out in 5 minutes. Five minutes later, a staff ended up spilling the whole thing and asked me to wait again. Not blaming that staff here -- accidents happen, but nobody seemed prepared for this kind of situation. No refund, no negotiable solutions given. I left without my drinks. Overall, this store's operation felt like a student group project with a nonexistent supervisor.

So the second day they were open me and my wife went there and the workers for polite informative and they actually filled up the bowl. We returned based on our positive experience yesterday March 25th, 2026, this experience was the complete opposite of the first visit. When I entered the store the girl at the counter did not make eye contact with me when I looked at her and I said hello she looked away and said hello very quietly. That's annoying to me, having worked in food service for over 30 years you make sure that you make eye contact with the customer and smile like you want to be there. Our bowls were filled very lightly, about half the amount of what I got our first time we were there. I asked for low salt options and they didn't know what to tell me and then I asked how lean your beef was and they didn't know how to answer that either. So I ended up getting chicken, opted out of the beans and added tomato salsa and romaine lettuce put on top. All the toppings and chicken were very lite, barely a scoop. However they did put a scoop of brown rice and lettuce. For $30 you would think that you would get a filled bowl, a full round scoop of every topping and better customer service. I'm not paying for just rice and lettuce. The vibe of the workers this visit seem to be down for some reason, like they didn't want to be there. Not knowledgeable about what they're making or selling either, nutritional wise. When I went to the drinks half the drinks for empty my only option was the watermelon and another drink option that had turmeric in it, I can't think of the exact description of the drink but they were out of tea and the beri option. My biggest concern it's the fact that my wife developed a very upset stomach shortly after eating the food and lasted all night into the next morning. She mentioned to me that the queso seemed off. I do recall that when they filled up the container for the queso on the side the top of the queso in the container that they fill it from looked like it had been sitting for a while and had a film on top. I didn't think about that until later after she became ill. After this experience we are not sure if we will ever return again. However the workers need to have more care in their service and what they're doing and knowledge of what they're doing. My recommendation is that you put people back into training to make sure they know what they're doing in regards to, food safety handling. Are they cross contaminating? Time of food in the holding pans. Are they recording the times? Are they using FIFO? And consistency in the amount of food you recieve with proper customer service with a sense of urgency and care. Look into these and fix the problems and you will have an excellent customer service experience that will make your customers want to return again and again..

Dirty, slow service, stingy on the ingredients and I ultimately walked out without paying for or taking my order at about 1250hrs Thursday. The young lady initially making my bowl was very lite on the ingredients and when I requested more she was happy to oblige. Then the bowl went to Alex for the toppings. The counter was filthy. Then the lady at the register couldn't get her card to work and the orders to be paid piled up on the filthy counter. I leaned in a little and asked the name of the topper person, Alex and said I know you just opened but you should wipe down the counter. He mumbled something. The counter never was cleaned so I left without my order. Now I am at Jersey Mike's.
