My mom and I were simply speaking to each other when a woman turned around and dramatically started breathing heavily. She claimed we were “yelling in her ear,” even though I calmly said “sorry?” because I was confused by her reaction. I didn’t realize you weren’t allowed to talk in a grocery store. When I informed the staff, they did nothing and eventually stood around laughing with the same woman. Based on my experience, I would not recommend shopping here if you’re anything but white.

They think I'm trying to steal or something. I proxy shop for elderly people and do two orders. It's fine if they are curious, but it just gets annoying. So I decided to do a cashier. I am very happy that people with mental disabilities have jobs, but it was aggravating when scanning my items, and the cashier tells a ten minutes story about each item being scanned. Thank God I wasn't getting sensative items. I could see the visiblely annoyed customers behind me. Then other times, it's an amazing experience. I got this one kid, John, at night time. The customer service counter is fantastic in the rare occasion I do need to make a return. Overall, I think things are on a downward trajectory. I can tell that standards are being lowered for cheep labor. It's getting harder to justify shopping at giant compared to Amazon fresh or Mom and pop shops like Martindale's.
