Subway used to be a cheap place to get a huge sandwich but now it’s outrageously priced and the workers here are hit or miss in terms of actually caring about proper clean food prep areas and whatnot. I once watched a worker here drop a spatula and immediately pick it up to use to take my food out of the toaster. I protested politely. She said “it doesn’t even touch the food.”I asked her to please use a clean one. “It’s the only one we have.” I insisted. She dramatically wipes the damn thing off with just water and a paper towel before proceeding. If that is not evidence that fast food is a dead industry I don’t know what more I could say to convince you.
