Lawsuit waiting to happen.
Visited on January 3rd and I am genuinely shocked this location is operating like this. Not because Taco Bell is supposed to be fine dining, but because basic safety and sanitation are the floor, not a bonus feature.
First problem: the outside. There was no meaningful attempt to shovel the sidewalks around the building or plow the drive area. I nearly slipped three times just trying to enter and leave. That is not “winter in Pittsburgh” or “it happens.” That is negligence. Someone is going to fall, get hurt, and the video will tell the whole story.
Second problem: the inside. The dining room looked like it had been ignored for hours. Dirty floors, dirty tables, filthy bathroom, and an absolutely disgusting drink station. The drink area was so grimy it made me want to walk out, but I had already started ordering. If your soda station makes customers question their life choices, something is deeply wrong.
Third problem: the atmosphere. While waiting, I could clearly hear employees in the back having a loud, profanity filled conversation that had nothing to do with work. Customers should not have to listen to that while they eat.
Fourth problem: the ordering experience. I appreciate having self service kiosks, but these were painfully slow and buggy. After about 10 minutes, my order failed with a tax error message saying the system could not calculate tax, then it cancelled the order. I tried again and it went through, but the whole process was frustrating. On top of that, the touchscreen was visibly dirty and greasy. If you are going to push customers to touch a screen, it should not look and feel unsanitary.
The only positive was speed. With only two other customers in the store, the food came out quickly.
Unfortunately, the food itself was the final straw. I ordered a chalupa combo and it was basically a pile of old lettuce and mushy tomatoes. I took two bites and could not finish it. I packed up and left, and only took it home because we spent $30 on two combo meals.
Taco Bell corporate and the franchise owner should be embarrassed. This location is not just “a little messy.” It is unsafe outside, unclean inside, and careless in execution. This is what happens when standards are not enforced and leadership stops paying attention.
I would like a refund, but I would rather lick salt off a boot than return to this store.
