    Really like the food at Cava restaurants in general but our experience at the particular store was pretty poor. Waited in line for legitimately 25-30 minutes and by the time we got to the food, they were out of alot of the things we wanted. This was around 7:30 pm, not super late or anything. There was only one staff member working the line and then ringing up which is why it was so incredibly slow. At one point I thought another staff member came out to help, but it turns out they were just swapping who was going to be on break. There was also a crowd of angry to go order people waiting, some of whom just left without their food. I don't want to blame the staff, they seemed exhausted and I'm sure were trying their best, but whoever is managing totally dropped the ball. Would recommend Cava, just absolutely not this location.

    This restaurant has been open for less than a month and has quickly become one of my favorite weekly staples. I came here shortly after they opened and fell in love with this brand new place in shadyside and each time I’ve gone back it’s been busier and busier. The staff here is always hustling back and forth and I appreciate that they still deliver that same tasty product and friendly service every time. We are lucky to have a place like this in this part of the city where we can get fresh food in a clean environment served by people who appear to actually care about their job. Kudos!

    This is my first time as a customer ever and also my last. I placed my order at 7:36 p.m., after waiting 1 hour, I finally inquired where my order is. The staff rudely gestured to a screen and told me it's going to be a long wait. I had informed them that I have been waiting for one hour already. I then requested a refund, which I was told that they do not deliver refunds in the store and told me to get a refund through the app. I informed them that I did not use the app and don't have it. The staff member then rudely asked me "well then how did you order it?" to which I responded on the website, 1 hour ago. This is such disrespectful behavior from the staff toward a customer who has been waiting for over 1 hour and was simply inquiring where their food was. Waiting an hour for food that is literally scooped into a bowl is already insane as is, but then the disrespectful behavior from two separate staff members and a refusal of a refund is on another level.

    i would like to call out the young woman with the long forearm tattoo who was holding down the front bar as best as she could. she did her best handling a huge line of people while one coworker just sat and watched rolling her eyes. the young woman was still being kind, truly moving as fast as she could. so i hope that's recognized. overall, the flow of the front was a mess, and management is to blame for that. the manager pretty much ignored the mayhem, never stepped in to at least teach these young people how to handle understaffing and high traffic.

    I had an amazing experience at Cavo! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted at the door immediately, which set the tone for great service right away. This was only my second time attending, and it definitely won’t be my last. Princess was my server, and she was absolutely excellent. She was respectful, kind, and incredibly patient while helping me put together one of the best-tasting bowls I’ve had in a long time. Her customer service really stood out and made the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be back frequently. Highly recommend Cavo for both the food and the outstanding service!
