We had a confirmed reservation for a party of 6 at Jean-Georges Philadelphia on Sunday, May 3, 2026, as we were hosting a special guest visiting Philadelphia.
Just 2 days before our reservation, we received a call from the manager informing us that our reservation was canceled due to a private event. They just found out this private event??? I made this reservation 4 weeks prior.
This was extremely disappointing and honestly quite surprising for a restaurant at the level of Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia at Comcast Center. It raises serious concerns about how reservations are managed. Are guests expected to honor strict cancellation policies (with credit card guarantees and penalties), while the restaurant can cancel confirmed reservations at the last minute with no accountability?
Canceling a confirmed reservation with such short notice, especially for a larger party and special occasion, is not acceptable at this level of hospitality.
For a brand that promotes excellence and guest experience, this was a very poor reflection of both professionalism and customer care.
The perfect restaurant to celebrate my son's 40th birthday. We had a beautiful window seat and watched the sunset over the city. The tasting menu was delicious, creative and elegantly presented. They were more than happy to accommodate my daughter who does not eat seafood. And for once, the vegetarian or meat dishes provided for replacement were absolutely delicious. All the staff members were knowledgeable and easily able to answer any of our questions about the ingredients. The sommelier in particular took the time with each course to talk about the wine pairing choices. Which often involved two wines because of my daughter. We had a lovely server, I believe her name was Antoinette who could not have been more attentive. We have been to quite a few Michelin restaurants and found it very surprising that this restaurant was not on the list.

In diesem Restaurant stimmt einfach alles.
Dining at Jean Georges was truly an exceptional experience from start to finish. The staff were outstanding, warm, attentive, and always smiling, which made the entire evening feel effortless and welcoming.
Each dish felt less like a meal and more like a piece of art. The presentation, the balance of flavors, and the creativity behind every plate were remarkable. The foie gras, in particular, was unforgettable, rich, delicate, and honestly felt like it came from heaven.
Beyond the food, the atmosphere elevated everything even further. The design of the space is stunning, and the view is absolutely breathtaking. Together, they create an experience that is not just about dining, but about truly enjoying the moment.
Everything was simply perfect. I would come back again without hesitation.

We chose to celebrate a birthday lunch at SkyHigh at the Four Seasons in Philadelphia while both in town for business. As longtime fans of Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s restaurants, we were looking forward to the experience, especially since Jean-Georges was not open for lunch.
Earlier in the morning, we stopped by the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia for coffee and a light bite. Unfortunately, our first interaction with the host stand was disappointing—two hostesses were noticeably unwelcoming and came across as dismissive. We were told the restaurant was fully booked after being asked whether we were hotel guests, which left a poor first impression. We opted to return to the The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia, where the service met expectations.
When we returned for our confirmed lunch reservation, we were greeted again by the same hostesses and seated. Our server was attentive and enthusiastic, which we appreciated given the celebratory nature of the occasion, and the food itself—consistent with Jean-Georges’ reputation—was excellent.
However, the experience quickly declined due to the environment. A nearby table was seated with guests whose volume made conversation between us nearly impossible. We politely inquired about relocating to another available two-top near the entrance, but were told it was not available, despite appearing open. We were instead asked to wait for another table to become available.
As a result, we felt rushed through what was meant to be a special birthday lunch simply to escape the noise. Compounding this, the host stand—including a manager—appeared disengaged, spending much of the time conversing among themselves rather than actively supporting the dining room.
While the food lives up to the Jean-Georges standard, the front-of-house experience fell significantly short of what one would expect from a Four Seasons property. The service came across as inattentive and unnecessarily pretentious, which ultimately detracted from what should have been a memorable occasion.
