The atmosphere was pleasant. Our wait staff Corey L struck a fine balance between warmth and professionalism.
Such a fun and tasty lunch. My husband and I opted for the 3 Course menu, that was $ 49 per person. The salad was so unique and delicious. My husband had grilled salmon and I had blackened salmon which was cooked to perfection. The Napa cabbage slaw was yummy. For dessert they give you a dark chocolate mousse, which was so good. My husband had the Melbec and I had the Rose 5 oz. It was a little on the pricey side. Will definitely be back. Thank you.
My friend and I visited Vernick Fish last week for lunch. We ordered two hot appetizers and two branzino main dishes, one for each of us. The food was fine, acceptable but not notably better than other restaurants at a similar price point.
Unfortunately, the service significantly detracted from the experience. Our server was largely inattentive, with a long gap between the appetizers and main courses. We also had to wait a long period for water refills and eventually had to ask. When we inquired about dessert, the waitress appeared visibly impatient and responded with an unprofessional attitude, including rolling her eyes.
Overall, while the food was okay, the level of service was unacceptable for a restaurant of this reputation and price. The front-of-house staff need additional training in professionalism and customer respect.

Today we visited this restaurant for the first time and made a lunch reservation in advance. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the restaurant was nicely decorated for the holidays. We enjoyed the food overall, except for the crispy potatoes, which were overly dry and much too spicy 🌶️.
Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. We were served by a young woman who was not very friendly and spoke in a strict tone. At one point, she took the menu from my hands before I had finished looking at it. I understand that everyone can have an off day, but as a guest, this made us feel uncomfortable.
At first, I thought this attitude was directed only toward us, but after observing her interactions with other guests, it appeared to be her general manner of service.
The bill for two people was $150. We stayed for about 1 hour and 10 minutes before leaving.

We had such an incredible time celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary at Vernick Fish.
Service was a little slow to start, you could tell our waiter had been sat with way too many tables all at once, but once it got going it was INCREDIBLE.
My wife and I love fine dining and have eaten at most of the hot spots in Philly and felt that the experience here was better than many others we've had in the city. As we were eating, we kept saying "I can't believe FSS got a Michelin star and this didn't".
We ordered 4 oysters (loved the gochujang sauce), a shrimp cocktail (which was the only semi disappointing bite of the night), amberjack crudo, ricotta cavatelli, grilled black sea bass and the yuzu tart for desert. We were also gifted the yellowtail crudo and a white chocolate ganache for desert. We both thought we maybe could have ordered one more dish, and did find ourselves reaching for a snack about an hour after we got home.
Hands down our favorite bite of the night was the amberjack crudo. We both actually thought it was the best crudo either of us had experienced in our lives. The combination of pear and butter was seriously to die for.
Overall, would definitely return. Also highly recommend grabbing a caviar bump at the popup outside the restaurant on the way to grab dinner!

It was my first visit. I usually don't like to write bad reviews, but I want to share my experience. The interior was good, and our waiter was good; I have no complaints about that.
But the food... I don't know if other people are really okay with their food portions? They are really, really small. We ordered King Salmon tartare, sea bass, and scallops. Not only was the portion a problem, but I also didn't like the taste.
Sourdough came with lemon-flavored butter that was a little sweet. The bread was good, but I think regular butter would be better.
The King Salmon Tartare was made with spicy mayo and sesame oil, something you'd typically taste in a Japanese restaurant. It came with potato chips, and I don't know why. They didn't go together, and the chips were pretty salty.
The scallops had a strong cilantro taste, which I didn't like.
And the sea bass with peanut sauce—I can't tell if it was peanut-flavored; it tasted more like Korean bean paste sauce (된장). The sauce was pretty strong and salty. If it were served with some grain or potato, something bland, it would make this dish better.
This restaurant feels more like Asian fusion style. I honestly don't understand the good reviews. It is not worth the price.
They were located in the Four Seasons Hotel, and valet was $45.
