Turmeric Indian Kitchen is such a cute, cozy, and intimate spot — the perfect place for a relaxed and special night out.
This was our second time visiting, and it was somehow even better than the first. The food is absolutely divine and the service is top-notch. Our server, Brazil, was attentive, funny, and incredibly personable — truly made the experience even better.
For appetizers, we had the wings, samosas, and the kale & spinach chaat. Everything was full of flavor, but there is something about the chaat — it has officially become my favorite.
My husband ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala again (because it was that good the first time) and loved it just as much. I had the Honey Garlic Shrimp, which was really good. My friend had the Turmeric Lamb Chops, which were delicious. I’ve also tried the Malai Shrimp on a previous visit — it was absolutely divine. Must try!
And do not skip the lemongrass chai — it was so delicious I had to order a second one.
We can’t wait to come back!
Trust me I had a really great experience at Turmeric restaurant. I asked if they could make mutton chukka even though it wasn’t on the menu, and the chef happily prepared it with his own spicy blend, honestly one of the most flavorful and authentic dishes I’ve had in Philly 🤩
The naan here deserves a special mention. It was freshly handmade, soft yet slightly crunchy, and perfectly cooked. Trust me, I haven’t had naan like this at any other Indian or international restaurant in Philadelphia, it truly stands out.
I also tried the butter chicken which was creamy, well balanced, and not overly heavy or artificially colored like many places. Everything tasted authentic and thoughtfully prepared.
What made the visit even better was how friendly and welcoming the chef was. He personally interacted with us and even offered a generous discount, something you rarely see these days.
Overall, a fantastic dining experience with authentic flavors, great hospitality, and standout bread. Definitely recommend checking this place out.
Turmeric Indian Kitchen at 13th & Spring Garden is a Taste Binding Fragrant atmosphere with DELICIOUS mouth watering satisfaction.
Chef Handry is absolutely On Point with the spices! Server Brazil recommended the
Tandoori Chicken for me and my sweetheart ordered the Goat Caffreal.
Goat has met its match with Chef Handry’s cilantro and mint blend curry in the Caffreal. 😋😋😋😋😋
I ordered from here before and still gave them a chance to proof themselves as a potential restaurant but all I got was disappointment. I ordered the Kerala Parathas which looked like they already made them, froze them, and then just threw them at a pan. By the time I got them, they were like a hard slipper which couldn’t be eaten. Which when you make a fresh paratha and even when it takes time to reach to the customer, it becomes soggy but you can still eat it, this was a hard rock which couldn’t be eaten. Not ordering again!

I genuinely don’t understand how this restaurant has such high ratings. Based on my experience, it was the worst Indian food I’ve ever had. Everything was completely tasteless. No depth, no warmth, no spice. Just bland.
Everything felt bland and forgettable… except I’ll definitely remember how horrible the food was.
To make matters worse, the restaurant was freezing cold inside, which made an already disappointing meal even more uncomfortable. Overall, a terrible experience from start to finish. I won’t be returning.
