- KLKent LFeb 12, 20265.0Spread’s sells the legendary Montreal-style bagels, made in an open brick oven. I’m not even sure you can find these bagels in the city of Montreal anymore, because of new fire codes banning use of open, wood fired ovens! They have an amazing variety of styles and flavors from chewy and salty, to fluffy and sweet. Even though many sell out early (I love to watch them wheel in the fresh bagel dough early in the morning!), I’ve always found that they have a few of my favorites left later in the day. Service is great, too. They always wrap the savory and sweet in separate bags!
