  Pitchers feels like an oddity to me amongst Manayunk Main Street bars, it's sports bar-ish and kind of dive bar-ish, it reminds me of lyrics from a Goo Goo Dolls song, "a young man sitting in an old man's bar waiting for his turn to die" (no offense intended). Definitely feels like a place with regular dedicated customers locally. The bartender was nice and service was quick. I didn't try any food, just stopped in for a beer on my way home from work. I want to give benefit of the doubt, maybe I dropped in on an off night and they get hopping later on in the evening, I wouldn't say I never drop in again.

  Stopped by tonight to try Big Rube's infamous cheesesteak. Sat at the bar and ordered a couple beers and the steak. I got a phone call so I stepped out for 3 minutes to come back to a full new beer and 2 bitten cheesesteak dumped and trashed. What could have been an honest mistake from the young blonde bartender, turned into a sour response, "I'm really sorry but I can't reimburse you for another steak" and "Well did you tell anyone??". This is after I paid and tipped already because I used apple pay. I asked to talk to the manager and she fixed it real fast. She got all snooty with me like it was my fault. I asked for the new beer I paid for and she dumped, and she scoffer and got snooty with me. I used to frequent Pitcher's a lot, its just not a good look, especially after you pay and tip the person and they act all entitled like this. The bar wasn't even busy, so I don't get the attitude. Needless to say the situation could have been handled better. **On the important note, Big Rube's cheese steak was bangin! Real nice guy too. I apologized to him that he had to make it again, even though the bartender was at fault. Next time I'll take the steak to go. Gotta catch him Thurs - Sat I've been told

  Corner pub- met the Chef - Rube from west philly like me , lived near Jim’s steaks He nailed it- made his own bread - hard seeded and the steak and cheese and onions were great He said only 5% can eat the whole thing - we agreed- leftover for lunch The fries were crinkle fries and were also awesome Beers on tap maybe 20 Great place to hang out and eat/drink
