Very solid Philly chop house. My wife and I rarely do chop houses when we dine out, but Del Frisco’s is such an institution in Philadelphia we had to check this place out eventually. Had the king crab rainbow roll and the ginger scallion crispy rice and jumbo lump crab cake as starters.
All starters were super high quality, no misses. Very solid. Split an aged ribeye for dinner, along with a 3oz Kobe beef and a loaded potato. Kobe was good, kind of like more expensive pork belly honestly or little slices of the fatty part of a good ribeye. The aged ribeye is probably the best steak I’ve had, my only real note is I think the level of salt used in preparation is probably excessive I’d experiment with walking that back a bit but that’s just me. The loaded potato was probably the only miss in the whole night. Just seemed like a low effort preparation with a split potato with some toppings rather than maybe working and mixing the extras into the potato itself for a nicer outcome.
Our server was Cameron. Sweet guy, very sharp and responsive while balancing giving us space. Gold standard server and deeply knowledgeable about the menu. Great experience with him.
Little note that’s probably worth thinking about, this place is massive. Kind of loud at night they play club music so don’t expect something more austere it’s not that kind of chop house. But for as massive as it is, it’s really wild that the entire second floor has two single toilet restrooms to service an army of people. Lines form, it gets messy in there, and I bet it’s costing this place points on reviews. Your home probably has more restroom capacity than the second floor of Del Friscos. I leave you to imagine how rough it might be to host a few hundred people in your house. That’s the situation which is honestly just wild. It would take maybe 2-3 hours worth of restaurant revenue to fix this. So… fix it guys : )
Not going to be petty about potatoes and potties though. Strong food, strong service, I have zero doubts if I brought people here again I’d get the same good experience. That’s hard to do in a restaurant at this kind of scale. Great experience.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. Its a spacious restaurant with history. Service was good, not exceptional for the price. Limited restroom: we had to wait in line to use the small mediocre decorated bathroom. Food was not exceptional compared to a chain steakhouse such as Longhorns. Disappointed with the breads, appetizers and steaks. Amazed by the tall wine tower. I would recommend to visit for cocktails or drinks.
I am writing this review to warn others about a very serious food safety problem I experienced at this restaurant.
A friend and I both ordered the tuna tartare. Within one day after eating it, we both developed severe gastrointestinal symptoms, including intense stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. We later were diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis. Neither of us had eaten anything else in common that day except the food from this restaurant.
Tuma tartare is a raw dish, but that does not excuse improper handling, storage, or poor hygiene. What we experienced was not mild discomfort — it was a serious illness that disrupted our work, daily life, and required medical attention.
This was a frightening and painful experience, and it shows a complete failure in food safety standards. Raw meat must be handled with extreme care, and in this case it clearly was not.
I strongly advise anyone, especially people with sensitive stomachs, children, pregnant women, and the elderly, to avoid ordering raw meat dishes here. No restaurant meal is worth risking your health.
Please beware! We recently had an awful experience at Del Frisco's and it ruined a celebratory birthday meal. To begin, the bald, male manager was incredibly rude for no reason at all. There was a mix-up with our reservation and they gave us the wrong table that was meant for another group of two - easily fixed, right? The solution is to just give the other group of two the table that was meant for the two of us. The aggressive attitude given to us from the manager, along with his scowls, started the night off on a bad foot. After reprimanding us for not asking the hostess if the table she was seating us at was meant for us, he couldn't even bother to say "enjoy your meal" or "sorry for the mix-up."
We tried to recover, but the atmosphere was very much like a bar scene - not what we expected for a so-called "high-end steakhouse." The noise level was off the charts and the manager, along with another female manager, constantly walked around the floor between the tables just watching everyone. By the way, the rude manager walked past our table again mid-way through the meal and gave a condescending stare like we ruined the restaurant by mixing up his planned table placement.
Furthermore, the food was just okay. We have been to multiple high-end restaurants and this just does not compare to others. We are happy to spend hundreds of dollars on good food and drinks, but we would not recommend this place to anyone. If you are reading this, please consider going across the street to Ocean Prime Steakhouse - you won't regret it!

I've dined at the Del Frisco's in Denver, which was sadly such a vastly better experience than the Philly location. Aside from the cool historic building it's housed in and spiral staircase wine vault, the experience was poor.
We checked in and immediately dropped our coats at the coat check. We waited for literally two full minutes for the coat check person to return to give us a tag. During that time, the host was ready to take us back but had to wait for us to receive a tag. Why not just give us a tag as soon as you take our coats from us? The place was LOUD, like a dance club, and the poor acoustics of the place didn't help. I don't understand why someone would want to eat a nice meal where you can barely hear your companion because it sounds like you've gone clubbing. We're then seated at a table literally next to the bathroom (see pic). My partner and I look at each other as if to say, "you've got to be kidding, right?" I asked the host if there was an alternative and she said, "don't worry, it's just for the staff." Confused by the odd response, we sat down and she walked away.
Next came this guy who literally threw rolls onto our table as he ran away (the bread bowl spun and wobbled as it finally came to rest, I'm talking THROW). Our drinks (her cocktail and my club soda) didn't come with any lemon wedges or straws. Just glasses of liquid. We ordered the Yellowtail Crudo-- about a half dozen or so of the tiniest, paper thin pieces of fish I've ever seen (each piece hardly more than 1 inch long). For $29.00, I could have gotten 3 times the amount of fresh Yellowtail at a good sushi bar. We almost complained about the paltry amount but just crossed our fingers that the salads and entrees would be better. My partner got the burrata and tomatoes. The tomatoes weren't very fresh-- they were mealy and didn't come with any basil or anything to bring the cheese and tomatoes together. My steak was medium rather than medium rare and her swordfish smelled and tasted fishy. It clearly wasn't fresh and probably a day or so away from being spoiled. She only ate a quarter of it. We ordered a baked potato but asked that it not have all the "loaded" toppings (all we wanted was some butter and maybe sour cream). Apparently they interpreted that as wanting a cooked potato that looks like it had been angrily torn apart by the chef (see pic). The waiter saw this when our food arrived but said nothing. When we called him back to the table, he admitted it didn't look appealing and returned with an intact potato with butter. $16.00 folks.
The "best" part of the evening was the line of 9 people waiting outside the customer bathroom (recall we were told the bathroom at our table was for the servers). It felt like I was waiting for a porta-potty at an amusement park (the person exiting the bathroom warned, "it's a mess in there"). With its deafening music and big screen TVs around the bar in full view of the entire dining room, Del Frisco's Philly feels like a high ends sports bar trying to masquerade as a high-end steakhouse. Charging more for your food doesn't make you good. It makes you a poor value. If I'm spending over $300 on a meal, I expect much better food and an ambience and experience worthy of a fine dining establishment. I don't sit next to the lavatories on a plane, let alone a nice restaurant! Philly has too many good restaurants to ever have to come back here-- go elsewhere.
