We loved the look of the store and everything was so pretty, we were surprised to see so many selections of sweets and were even more surprised by the nostalgic brands of candy that reminded us of our childhood. We were greeted with a smile right away but when we got towards the back of the store, Isaiah was working in one of the chocolate sections. He greeted us with a big smile and offered us a sample, he had his manager reopen his register so that we could purchase everything he suggested and our kids loved the surprises. We did not expect to have such an experience at a candy store but Isaiah made our shopping trip magical. My husband, who is a quadriplegic, could not believe that young men like Isaiah still existed and he was very impressed by his kindness and attentive demeanor. This store is definitely worth a trip if you are in the area!

We purchased three pieces of dark chocolate cashew clusters and three dark chocolate pecan clusters, expecting a premium product given the nearly $30 per pound price point. What we received instead was spoiled, stale chocolate that should never have been sold. While the cashews themselves were fine, the dark chocolate pecan clusters were clearly old. The chocolate was covered in an obvious white film (bloom), and more importantly, the taste was unmistakably rancid. There was no discernible cacao flavor at all, only an off-putting, greasy, margarine-like, spicy and bitter taste that lingered unpleasantly long after eating. This was not a harmless cosmetic issue. What makes this worse is that the chocolate on display at the front looked fresh and dark, yet the employee handed us pieces from the back stock that were visibly white and stale. She placed them on the scale, clearly able to see their condition, and still proceeded with the sale. In total, we were sold three pieces of this spoiled product. Customer service was equally disappointing. A young male employee asked a customer who was already being assisted if she needed help; after she said she was being helped, instead of turning to assist us, he simply turned around to chat with a coworker, completely ignoring us. Between the overpriced, spoiled chocolate and the indifferent, inattentive service, this was a thoroughly unpleasant experience. For a company that markets itself as a premium confectioner, this level of quality control and customer care is unacceptable.
