When I asked for clarification about the meaning of the sell-by date, she responded, “I don’t know—you’ll have to ask the manufacturer.” As a customer, I consider Giant to be the manufacturer. That label carries responsibility for product quality and clarity. If the sell-by date doesn’t guarantee freshness until that time, it should be clearly communicated. Dismissing a valid concern and deflecting accountability undermines the trust customers place in the Giant brand.
