I understand "the customer is always right" is a bit dated in today's society, But this experience is inexcusable.
Arrived minutes to close on
Feburary 6th, 2026.
Exited my car to go to the little rat window they provide for food delivery people, Which is no biggie.
Taco bell has the same idea. Difference is, Taco bell has a courtesy room for individuals. Being that the temperature outside is in the negatives, Its very convient, but I digress.
I click the button provided, And a large lady waved her finger at me very rudely.
No eye contact, No knod, just a greasy finger waving in the wind.
I go back to my car with my significant other (we work together) and tell her to pull me around, And to speak to a manager to see if we could just pick up through the drive through.
We arrive at the speaker with said lady on the other end. Before we even speak she whines "you were supposed to go to the window" My significant other ignores her and asks for a manager, The lady on the other end (very dramatically) said, "I guess I can get you a manager"
The manager on duty was very professional and respectful listening to our complaints. He states that wendys policy is to use the rat window, And he is risking termination if he disobeys policy. Which I understand wholeheartedly.
We circle back around, with the lady at the window. I get out, grab it and start back to my car.
As I'm on my way back to my car, My significant other felt it was appropriate to tell the lady that she has a poor attitude. The lady handled the statement appropriately, By saying, "Have a goodnight!" Repeatedly.
The issue with me is...
when that lady closed the window, the second she closed the window she started walking back to the kitchen and let out a scream (of what I assume anger) that could be heard from outside the building.
Im not too sure if said lady has a mental illness, Or if she was having a bad day.
Regardless, yelling and dramatic behavior is unacceptable as an employee being paid to deal with the public.
Witnessing that lady not be able to contain and maintain her anger leads me believe she creates a toxic work environment.
If you are having a bad day or a customer pissed you off, Go to the freezer like every other responsible employee of a kitchen.
Experiencing this makes me not want to eat, Or deliver from here ever again.
After her dramatic act, I felt it was only appropriate to go back around to the speaker and ask to speak to a manager to get that lady's name to report to corporate. How convient that he was on the speaker now, Not the lady.
(I appreciate the manager on duty for not escalating the situation)
I decided it was MY turn to tell the manager on duty how poor that ladys attitude was, while giving him my 2 cents.
If wendys doesn't drug test, They should.
