Frustrating time wasting experience trying to return some items tonight.. instead of just scanning them to see if they were in fact from this store, I had to wait for 10 minutes until a manager could be summoned who basically did what I had asked the staff to do is just determine yes or no where these items from the store. They weren't which is fine and was helpful to know but instead of taking 2 minutes took 15 when I was trying to get some place. There seem to be more concerned about rules and regulations that actually being helpful to a customer.

I placed an online order through the app and was notified about out of stock items and was asked if I wanted a substitution. I immediately replied yes and offered the suggestion for the substitution. I receive no answer. I am notified of a second item out of stock. I respond immediately with a substitution. Shortly after the response was "sorry we don't have that" and then the chat ended, and the shopping was completed. I wanted to respond and ask what they don't have but the order was closed by the shopper. As I am driving home, I'm told the order was delivered. I made a detour to Acme to look for the out of stock items. Guess what. The items were never out of stock. And neither were the replacements I asked for. I purchased them myself and asked to speak to a manager. Judy Kerr eventually came back from her cigarette break (it was quite noticeable) and showed zero concern that the shopper ignored the texts and actually missed the items that were in stock. She actually said "so what" to my concern. She then accused me of stealing the bag of groceries I already paid for. I angrily showed her my receipt and left the premises. Why offer a chat function if the shopper doesn't respond to the substitution request? Why is it that shoppers say something is out of stock when it clearly isn't? This would be one-star review if it weren't for the nice associate at the customer service desk who mentioned that someone complained about this service 24 hours ago and clearly understood the issue at hand, unlike Ms Kerr. Update, 2/7/26: Called again and spoke with a different manager. An excuse was offered. This manager, Alex, stated that sometimes after shopping and an item is out of stock, they will get a delivery or a truck and then stock the shelves, which would explain why I easily found what the shopper said was out of stock. However, the messages the shopper sent ended at 4:21 PM. I was in the store less than an hour later. I find it hard to believe that in the span of 45 minutes, Acme stocked a couple of Chobani yogurts of a single flavor on the shelf. I wasn't tripping over the stockers and dodging their carts, but I guess anything is possible. Though I doubt it. As for an explanation as to why the shopper would ignore messages sent on the app about out of stock items...well there was no explanation. Do us all a favor and just remove the chat function from the app if your shoppers are going to ignore it. What's the point of it otherwise?

I shopped at this ACME regularly for over 14 years, but I recently stopped going altogether due to repeated unprofessional, stalking-like, and hostile interactions with staff, particularly a younger female manager with glasses and long hair. A few days before Halloween 2025, my friend and I went to ACME for Halloween candy. The same female manager was setting up some Halloween merchandise and started stalking my friend and I. I didn’t notice anything until my friend pointed out that the manager suddenly stopped setting up the table and started following us. My friend was very uncomfortable with the situation, left the store, and waited for me in the car. In the midst of checking out, the same female manager publicly accused me of not ringing up an item at self-checkout, making a scene unnecessarily in front of other customers without first checking the screen — which would have shown the item was properly scanned several items before she said anything. The manager didn’t apologize and walked away as if she didn’t have to say anything about it. On a later visit, the same female manager approached the checkout lane I was using and repeatedly questioned the cashier about whether she had called for assistance or had an issue. The manager lingered for much longer than expected and wouldn’t stop questioning the cashier even though the cashier calmly explained multiple times that she had not called anyone for assistance and was simply changing the receipt paper. Immediately after that interaction, my card suddenly could not be processed, despite there being no issue with my account. When I went to customer service, the same female manager was again rude and confrontational. I asked for a different manager — even someone junior — to help me, and she refused to step away. Another customer service employee then chimed in with the manager by chuckling at her behavior. The situation was so unprofessional and unnecessary that I left my groceries and bags behind and immediately went to Giant instead. The difference in professionalism was night and day — the staff there were friendly, respectful, helpful, and said hello and thank you for shopping there. After more than a decade of loyalty, this was not an acceptable way to be treated as a customer or for ACME staff to behave.

Acme in Havertown miserable manager Mike was horrible/unprofessional when I asked and needed help in regard to the free turkey 🦃program Its no surprise that the store was practically empty. Also there was no one at customer service so there is absolutely no excuse for your derogatory nasty behavior towards me:( I called corporate and of course it’s out sourced and is someone who can’t speak English! I don’t care about a so called free turkey however I do care about you crumblimg up my receipts and throwing them in the trash including my receipt from today?!?ACME Markets I could add more to this saga but never shopping there again will help me for sure! Happy Thanksgiving All!!!
