Worst Acme ever, service doesn't even deserve a one star. Pharmacy emplyee was rude, condescending, lazy, and just fresh. I was not the only customer that had the same experience with her yesterday. Awful Awful Awful

Frustrating time wasting experience trying to return some items tonight.. instead of just scanning them to see if they were in fact from this store, I had to wait for 10 minutes until a manager could be summoned who basically did what I had asked the staff to do is just determine yes or no where these items from the store. They weren't which is fine and was helpful to know but instead of taking 2 minutes took 15 when I was trying to get some place.
There seem to be more concerned about rules and regulations that actually being helpful to a customer.

I placed an online order through the app and was notified about out of stock items and was asked if I wanted a substitution. I immediately replied yes and offered the suggestion for the substitution. I receive no answer.
I am notified of a second item out of stock. I respond immediately with a substitution. Shortly after the response was "sorry we don't have that" and then the chat ended, and the shopping was completed. I wanted to respond and ask what they don't have but the order was closed by the shopper.
As I am driving home, I'm told the order was delivered. I made a detour to Acme to look for the out of stock items.
Guess what. The items were never out of stock. And neither were the replacements I asked for. I purchased them myself and asked to speak to a manager.
Judy Kerr eventually came back from her cigarette break (it was quite noticeable) and showed zero concern that the shopper ignored the texts and actually missed the items that were in stock. She actually said "so what" to my concern. She then accused me of stealing the bag of groceries I already paid for. I angrily showed her my receipt and left the premises.
Why offer a chat function if the shopper doesn't respond to the substitution request? Why is it that shoppers say something is out of stock when it clearly isn't?
This would be one-star review if it weren't for the nice associate at the customer service desk who mentioned that someone complained about this service 24 hours ago and clearly understood the issue at hand, unlike Ms Kerr.
Update, 2/7/26: Called again and spoke with a different manager. An excuse was offered. This manager, Alex, stated that sometimes after shopping and an item is out of stock, they will get a delivery or a truck and then stock the shelves, which would explain why I easily found what the shopper said was out of stock. However, the messages the shopper sent ended at 4:21 PM. I was in the store less than an hour later. I find it hard to believe that in the span of 45 minutes, Acme stocked a couple of Chobani yogurts of a single flavor on the shelf. I wasn't tripping over the stockers and dodging their carts, but I guess anything is possible. Though I doubt it.
As for an explanation as to why the shopper would ignore messages sent on the app about out of stock items...well there was no explanation. Do us all a favor and just remove the chat function from the app if your shoppers are going to ignore it. What's the point of it otherwise?
