The staff is always helpful and the produce is consistently fair. However, I do have a concern about parking lot safety, especially in the late afternoon and evening. Cars are constantly speed through the lot, failing to yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk, and drive uncomfortably close before abruptly braking at stop signs—if they stop at all. This is really dangerous for customers and workers walking to and from the store. Is there anything that can be done to improve safety in the lot closer to the store?

We bought this cheese on August 9, 2025 from the Harleysville Giant. Opened the cheese to find mold and that it expired in March 2025?? How is a grocery store selling food that expired FIVE months ago?? The expiration date just got overlooked for months and was still put on the shelf? It is clear that their dairy products are not being rotated properly. Same with their produce. Strawberries and blueberries in the store are consistently moldy. Vegetables and potatoes rarely seem fresh and go bad within a couple of days of purchasing. I’ve even had an employee in the produce department come up and tell me to avoid certain vegetables, knowing that they weren’t fresh. After buy 5 month expired mozzarella cheese, it really makes you question the quality and safe-handling of the food sold here. Being our local grocery store, we waste a lot of money here on food that is not edible.

Giant is my go-to grocery store. Unfortunately, the Harleysville location is very small. Not well staffed or stocked. Short dates, under staffed. If Giant wants to take over, please upgrade or open a new location. Your only local competitor is Hennings, and it's a beautiful large store yet WAY OVERPRICED! Updates will follow.

This place is consistently a train wreck. Difficult to find food items, expired food items and most recently for at least the third time seafood that is well past its prime even though it's marked current date. The only time I'm going to go back here in the future is for maybe salt and pepper shakers. To be fair the staff is nice and the store is clean.
