The food didn’t match the setting. The atmosphere and the location is beautiful. You walk in through the glass doors and are greeted by the staff and you think to yourself, “this is a nice place. The food is gonna be good!“ But I really wanted some french fries and they tasted like they were frozen at one point. They were the unfried french fries and they were very disappointing. Especially for six dollars and a small cup of french fries. I don’t want to be this person but, I could have spent two dollars at McDonald’s and gotten better french fries. I was trying to be meatless that day so I got one of their plant based bowls. And it looked lackluster and it tasted lackluster. I also tried the autumn squash soup. I’ve had better. The drinks were pretty good. The service was nice. The mousse dessert was interesting. A nice touch. The setting is one of the nicest in the Glen Mills area. But, I feel like they would really benefit from an excellent chef as I guess all restaurants would. They probably have a chef who works really hard. And I appreciate service roles because I work in a service role myself. But the location and atmosphere is giving “one of a kind“ and the food is giving “We’re a chain.“ I’m not saying that none of their food is creative or delicious. one of my friends had the chicken dish with a brown sauce on it, and she enjoyed it. I think people come there willing to spend really good money but want really good food. I know I did. Still, the place was packed! So maybe my expectations were too high. I don’t mind spending six dollars for french fries if the french fries are amazing. But they weren’t. I don’t mind spending over $20 for a meal that does not have meat in it If that meal makes me say, “who needs meat… today.🤭🤫” I ended up getting the eggplant Parmesan. The eggplant was fried to a delicious crisp which I really loved! The red sauce they used on top was not very flavorful, but that’s OK. The Bucatini underneath the eggplant was really nicely cooked. But the whole dish lacked real flavor. I don’t like to have to add salt and pepper to any dish at a restaurant, but the salt and pepper were definitely present on the table and I had to shake them a few times. I think the restaurant is sufficient for the area, but it could be better. And I would love to see it do better because this location deserves five star food. You got this harvest! You can do better and I know you will!
