Store opens at 7AM, but customer service isn't available until 9AM. That's ridiculous. If you have customers in the store, you should provide them with customer service. Pretty basic principle of running a business.

Sick of hearing stupid music and ads when I fill up on gas. Sick of self-checkout.

I visited this store to buy groceries. I also picked up a bottle of wine with my 18-year-old daughter. I’ve never had any trouble purchasing wine before at the other giant store, but this particular employee was incredibly rude. Instead of asking me for my ID, he asked both my daughter and me for an ID to buy the wine. I told him that I was the mother and that I was going to buy it. He then claimed that he had seen my daughter standing with me, so he required both of our IDs. My daughter didn’t have her ID with her. As a result, I ended up not buying anything. This was my first and last time here. The store is filled with incompetent employees.

I am writing to report an appalling experience I had today at the self-checkout area around 11:25am November 19, 2025. The employee overseeing the self-checkouts (middle-aged woman with short, curly brown hair) exhibited a shocking lack of customer service, empathy, and basic professionalism.
My interaction began when I needed assistance for an incorrectly scanned item. My assistance light was flashing, yet the employee, who was standing and overlooking the area, ignored the signal until I verbally called out to her. She finally approached, wordlessly removed the item, and walked away without acknowledging me.
The situation worsened immediately after. While attempting to scan a container of deli chicken, the awkward positioning required by the lack of a hand scanner caused the container to open, spilling the contents onto the machine and the floor. Luckily my brother was with me, and he asked the employee for help, her response was dismissive and rude: “Well, pick it up and throw it back in the container and go get a new one if you want.”
The employee showed a complete disregard for hygiene and safety. When asked for paper towels, she completely ignored the request and offered zero materials for cleanup or hand sanitization. Consequently, I was forced to kneel down and pick up the spilled chicken with my bare hands. After I asked her what to do with the contaminated food, she wordlessly provided a plastic bag. Her final action was to make a deeply inappropriate and passive-aggressive comment as she walked away: “You’re not having a good day, are you?”
A professional employee would have provided cleaning materials, apologized for the accident, and assured me not to worry about the mess. Instead, this employee was rude, refused a request for basic hygiene materials, and compounded my anxiety and embarrassment with her callous final remark. Management needs to address this individual’s severe lack of training in customer service and empathy.

Love Giant. Big but easy to park and navigate in store. Clean and organized. But a little more expensive than Walmart and Grocery outlet and BBs
