I have been shopping 🛍 @ Giant Supermarket for years. They are your typical Supermarket that pretty much sells everything. Every Friday there new weekly circular comes out for the upcoming sales of the week.

On January 3, 2026, around 3:30 PM, a middle-aged white woman standing at the self-checkout area watching customers was the worst employee I have ever encountered. She stood there with an angry expression the entire time, as if nothing in her life was going well, glaring at customers. When customers asked for help, she helped them with extreme irritation and attitude. I sincerely hoped I wouldn’t need to ask her for help — but unfortunately, I did. The moment I said “Excuse me,” she reacted as if she had been waiting for it, glaring at me and shouting “WHAT?!” as if to say, “You’re in trouble now.” My goodness — she was truly the worst grocery store employee I’ve ever experienced. Even the young children who were with me became visibly tense. While I was trying to explain the issue, she kept snapping back with “What?” “So what?” in an aggressive tone. I barely managed to hold back my anger. Honestly, interacting with someone like that isn’t even worth my time. I just moved to this area and this was my first time visiting this store, but I am extremely disappointed. I will be shopping at Costco, Trader Joe’s, or Whole Foods instead.

It's not the workers fault...self checkout here is ridiculous. On a very busy day, only 2 real human checkout people. I hate having to be a cashier and bag everything when buying $200 worth of groceries. The person overseeing the self checkout might as well just be a full-service person, so things can move faster, and our "training" in real time can be deemed unnecessary. It's back to McCaffery's for me..it might be a bit more expensive, but the quality is good and customer service still intact.
