Absolutely unacceptable. I’ve been ordering from this McDonald’s for years because it’s the closest one to my college, and while it has always been bad, this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had.
I’m sick, I live on a college campus, and I don’t have the ability right now to grocery shop or cook for myself—so I ordered through Grubhub. I ordered late (around 10 p.m.), but well before closing, and ordered something extremely simple: a Shamrock Shake (specifically because it helps my throat) and a small meal.
What I received instead was a joke:
No Shamrock Shake at all
Wrong number of nuggets
Wrong fry size
No apple slices
Missing the toy from the kids meal
Basically, half the order was missing. I paid around $15 and then had to spend 45 minutes arguing with Grubhub support just to get a refund so I could reorder.
Because it was later at night, the reorder was more expensive due to time-based pricing. I ordered the exact same thing again. And guess what?
They messed it up AGAIN.
This time they got the nugget count right, but once again refused to give me the Shamrock Shake. Instead of canceling the item in their system or marking it unavailable like any competent business would, they either:
Tried to give me nothing, or
Replaced it with an apple juice box (???), which is NOT even remotely close to what I ordered or needed.
If you’re out of Shamrock Shakes, SAY THAT. Cancel the item. Let the customer decide. Do not just shove random items into a bag and call it a day.
To make it worse:
They did not answer the phone
I left a voicemail asking for a call back
This happened TWICE within four hours
They are literally 5 minutes from my campus
I wasted money, time, and energy while sick, and ended the night with food I didn’t order and couldn’t even use for what I needed. This location has a long-standing pattern of rude staff, incorrect orders, and zero accountability—but this crossed into complete incompetence.
If you don’t want to do your job, don’t work here. There are many options besides giving customers random items they didn’t order and forcing them to fight for refunds.
I would rather you cancel the order than pull this nonsense. Do better—or stop accepting delivery orders altogether.
