When I pointed it out to the employee, she casually replied, “That’s how we do it when we first open,” which felt like they were admitting to serving yesterday’s leftovers instead of prepping fresh batches for the day. My wife went with the asada anyway and regretted it; it was tough, dried out, and lacked any real flavor. I love Chipotle when everything is fresh, but starting the day with old, scraped-from-the-bottom meat is unacceptable—especially when you’re charging full price. Hopefully this was just an off day, but I’d strongly recommend skipping the proteins right at opening until they change this practice. Super disappointing.
