Probably not going back. Food was just ok. No one was in the totally empty dining room and I had to seek someone out. Service was fine but it was a less than engaging experience.

The waitress was a little off not really fun having your waitress walk up to you smelling like cigarettes but other than that the food was amazing. The atmosphere could be changed. Looks a little too old-fashioned to me. Have the burger really good and juicy my favorite part I gotta say is the crunchy outer edge of the bun wow I end up eating the center first then the outer and the fries are killer too. They’ll try the onion rings next time.
To start, take this with a grain of salt as it seemed like the food was lacking it. Overall I was not particularly impressed. While the staff was polite, helpful and was providing attention to us and other guests we'll. The food was lackluster. We tried two of their specials. The Sassy bbq bacon smash burger and the croque madame. The burger was a bit overcooked and lacking on flavor overall. To be fair we didn't say to cook the burger any particular way and business wasn't too make sure meat isn't raw but it was still over done. The onion rings were ok with the herb crust but also lacking in flavor. The croque madame sourdough was overly hard specifically on the crust needing the knife to saw at it. The three cheeses were there but not that flavorful, only one seemed to have any noticable taste. It seemed like the dishs were lacking salt the generally helps other flavors overall. Maybe this is by intent, I'm not sure but overall the meals were just... there but nothing special and tasted bland, not bad. Even the Sassy Sauce which was kind of a watered down mixture of hot and sour with sweet and sour flavors without salt. If your on a low sodium diet this may be good but when your not it was just underwhelming. I may try again and select a dish that does not need salt to bring flavor and something less likely to be overcooked. Unfortunately they were also no longer serving fresh fruit as an alternative.
We’re from out of town and hungry for breakfast, saw the sign and decided to try. Wait staff was super welcoming and the food? Oh my gosh - delicious. The portions were huge and everything was so tasty and fresh and homemade. Definitely try the cinnamon rolls!! Happy we found it!

Sassy Onion has absolutely delicious food. I had the corned beef hash and my son had the chicken fried steak with honey jalapeño gravy. Both entrees were amazing. The hash was made there with lots of tender corned beef. The chicken fried steak was hand breaded in the kitchen- not a frozen patty. The service was good. I especially liked that the server brought a carafe of ice water and coffee for the table. We didn't have to wait for refills. The cost was bout $25- per person for what we chose. There were many lower cost items on the menu though. I will go back.
