Poor business model, as previous shoppers have mentioned, the store is full of marketing tricks. Customer service is non-existant, I was told to call the 877 number, who told me to call the store (100 miles away) to get the "sale" price which you have to jump through hoops to get. Back to customer service, back to the store manager, all telling me they CANT CREDIT MY CREDIT CARD the overcharge, even though I used my "CLUB CARD" which I am going to cut up now. I had to go to Chase to resolve this, upload the receipt, for $3. I am NEVER shopping here again, I am tired of the games. Grocery Outlet is worth the drive. No games. BTW, I had to throw out the disgusting fried chicken. I should get the full refund. Was this yesterday's fried chicken that I got overcharged for? Disgusting, never shopping at safeway. Overpriced and trickery.

Horrible store, always so dirty. There is ALWAYS an employee smoking right outside the front door making the whole store smell like cigarettes. "Fresh" produce selection is crap! Paid 2 dollars for this mango 20 mins ago and it's rotted. Save yourself a trip and go ANYWHERE ELSE!!!

Carts and employees have been run into the ground. Literally. I tried to tell the manager in the office early AM 2/22/26 that their carts need serviced (by a professional company) because the wheels are always locking mid stroll and making loud noises. He was terribly inconvenienced by my suggestion and sent a cart employee to do it. Clearly not listening to me and offended by my presence. It’s an upper level management/ownership problem that has been ignored. Sad for those of us who have witnesses the demise of our long time favorite store.

I have been shopping at the South Salem Safeway since opening. I have always clipped coupons and try to take advantage of specials that my family uses. My husband and I have always been hardworking and prided our selves on being honest. Not lying or stealing from a store. We study the ads and clip the coupons on app. at home. Every week we have to spend time going over the receipt. There is always an error. Go to customer service and now say it is our fault for not clipping the coupon. They ask to see our phones that don't work in the store. Have to pull out item or items from bags, show receipt and then they try to find it in the ad. Most of the time they don't even know what is on sale. There is always a hassle. I am tired of being treated like I am a criminal and trying to take advantage or I am stupid and don't know how to clip the coupons.Plus all the time wasted. Have checked the app. when we get home and the coupon had indeed been clipped. We spend thousands of dollars a year at this store. No more. We do not have issues at Fred Meyer or Winco. Will shop where my business is appreciated and don't have to worry about the sale items not being credited.
