Today, she didn't greet us as she began our order. When I asked how her day was she replied by saying, "Could be better." She carelessly tossed our food items down the belt after scanning them. She blamed her behavior on losing her son which is unfortunate but this has been a common theme for every interaction we've had with her. The cashier is arguably the most important employee in the store because even though the rest of my shopping experience was great it was ruined by her rude and inappropriate behavior. Maybe consider a different position or do some training in customer service.
