Great spot in Portland, known for iconic views of Portland and the Cascade Mountains (on a clear day) from its 30th floor location in the US Bank tower.
Lounge has a solid, reasonably priced happy hour menu (4-6p - check website) and sometimes live music if you’re looking for a chill vibe with great views.
Parking is actually easy for downtown - the tower has a parking garage at ground level and there’s an additional garage just across the street (both have EV charging spaces - used ChargePoint system during my visit), and the City Grill will validate up to 2.5 hrs of parking.
Like to go here before catching shows at the Keller.

Every time we come on vacation to oregon we make sure to stop at portland city grill. We'll something must have clearly changed. Last night was absoutely terrible and I was blown away that a high end establishment didnt even comp a single item or the manager come out and apologize. We both asked for our filets well done and both came out rare. Now I dont know if that was an insult to us or something but its literally the opposite of what we had asked. The second the waiter puts my plate on the table he knocks over my entire full glass of water on to my lap. To top this all off we saw our waiter twice! Its wierd how waiters expect tips when they take your order and you never see them again. Management must of changed recently and you can tell.

My boyfriend and I went on a date night on March 26th. The server was phenomenal and the drinks were amazing, but the food was subpar. We specifically went for the seafood tower, which was a massive letdown. The $87 tower was essentially inedible, the seafood was not fresh and had an unpleasant, fishy taste.
What is most concerning is that we have reached out multiple times over the last week and have been completely ignored. For a total bill of nearly $350, the lack of basic customer service and food quality is unacceptable for a Landry’s restaurant. We were hoping for a resolution, but the silence speaks volumes.

My partner and I tried out City Grill during happy hour. They open at 4:00, we got there at 4:20 and all of the window booths were taken. The view is really the only reason to try this place and unless you want to elbow the older early bird crew out of your way, you probably won't get a table with a view. The service was fine, they all seemed to have a little bit of attitude, but did their jobs. The food was not great. Everything was pretty bland with the only noticeable spice being salt, and plenty of it. Who needs flavor when you can just add more salt? The drinks were... honestly kind of gross. We ordered the special old fashioned and the spicy margarita. They were both way too sweet and the margarita had a strange flavor of old socks mixed in. I don't usually write poor reviews. I'm honestly not that picky, but if I had been paying the full prices instead of happy hour, I would have been pissed. I'm glad we tried it, but we won't be back.

Food: (Should be much better, basics were not right)
1. Ordered a shrimp appetizer and got a chewy and cold shrimp. How do you not plan the food to get to the customer’s table on time before it gets cold. Kitchen is right there.
2. Wanted to try out the Seafood trio and got the same chewy shrimp again.
3. Ordered the mushroom side and got salty cooked mushrooms.
Service: 1 star for the server
1. The server wasn’t outright rude but he didn’t make us feel welcome either. There were atleast 3-5 instances of him just outright ignoring us or not paying attention and not getting us exactly what we need.
2. After checking with us if we need something more, server just disappeared for almost 20-25 minutes.
Service: 5 stars for the Manager Fernando who heard the service issues we mentioned, made sure we knew that he is going to take appropriate action. Made us feel that we belonged there. Of which the server had made us feel as if we were not good enough to be there.
Atmosphere:
After evening when it gets dark. People like me who are here to eat good food and order lot of it, have to keep the table lamp aside. Which is the only good source of light on the table. After that I am eating my food in the dark.
I was traveling to Portland for some days. I am open to changing this review of this review the next time if they make me feel like I belong here too.
Thanks for reading.
