  The food was good, solid all around but seems more "German-American" and a tinge tipped towards the broader American palette. I thought it was fine and satisfied my German food hankering, but someone looking for an extremely authentic meal may be disappointed. Beers were good. As others have commented they've got a nice peek-a-boo view of the St Johns Bridge and Forest Park, but built the patio overhang 4 feet too low and the view from the interior is wrecked. They have a small parking lot, be prepared to street park and walk over. It would be high on my list of places to offer next time someone wants to meet in St Johns.

  Service, Drinks and food is great BUT I have one recommendation for management: rebuild the porch cover higher so that you can see the beautiful view of the St. John’s Bridge from the inside. It used to have a full view from the restaurant but the porch roof covering it really killed old the vibe inside. Maybe nice if you can be outside but that doesn’t work most of the year in Portland.

  Beatiful service BUT then I heard the owner? David talking about one of his staff sexually? It literally made me and my husband and KIDS grossed out!!! He was talking about nasty things with her you could CLEARLY tell she was uncomfortable I even asked her if was okay and asked her of the name of the manger and she told me it was the Owner!? I was grossed out appalled almost! The owner was being inappropriate in front of my kids and in front of her staff I felt so bad for her I evern asked her if she was okay after and she said it was the normal and that he flirts and over steps his boundaries Everyday... I feel bad for the staff and our sever / bartender who had to deal with his gross sexual harassment .......

  We love the yager schnitzel amd going for walks at the park next door afterwords!
