What an odd and off putting experience! For years now Subway has steadily failed to meet my expectations, but this visit reached all new lows.
I can't remember the last time an employee so passionately tried to refuse my business. It would've been less remarkable if she'd just told me to leave the property. Instead this is what happened.
As I entered she was leaving the food line on her way to the back. She briefly looked at me, said nothing (a generic "welcome in, I'll be with you in a moment" would've been nice) turned away and continued out of sight.
Within 30 seconds she appeared and immediately announced " our computer is down and we can't take debit cards." I then said " that's ok, I have cash" hoping to now place my order. She responded " the computer still won't let me open the register". Still hoping to enjoy Subway this evening I said " it would be weird since I'm standing in your store but I'm happy to place an online order". To this she disappointed me again by saying " our wifi is down and I can't take online orders either".
Finally fed up I responded less than respectfully and said " well then what CAN you do?!". We stared intensely at each other for a few seconds then finally she asked " well how much is the sandwich you want?"
The footlong I wanted costs $9.39 so needing to get the hell on with my evening I proposed " look, I'm gonna head next door and break this twenty, please start making my sandwich."
After an unplanned visit at the Dollar Store I returned to Subway to find her standing outside smoking a cigarette while on her cell phone. She broke away from her conversation and said" your sandwich is on the counter ". I handed her the $10 bill, went inside and grabbed my sandwich. On my way out she asked " what about your change? ". I told her "it's ok I need to keep moving, have a good night"
Sixty one cents was well worth paying to conclude this miserable experience. To her credit the sandwich was hefty, made well and likely even had a little extra meat and cheese on it. In the future I'll just go see Derek at the Gateway store because he over delivers on making Subways customers feel valued.

The service was bad, the last who was working on my order was slow and rude and she couldn't seem to get any part of my order right. And, the restaurant was extremely DIRTY & IT STUCK REALLY BAD LIKE GARBAGE INSIDE.
