Waited at customer service for over 10 minutes and no one showed up. Cashier kept calling for help.

Don’t buy fried chicken from the deli or pre marinated/seasoned food from their butcher counter. I don’t know who’s in charge of salting food here but clearly you want people to get cardiac arrest with the amount of salt you guys put on any of the food you make. It’s unfortunate that I had to waste a pound of “pre seasoned fajita meat” I wasted time cooking this today and couldn’t even eat it so it went in the trash. Please do better we work hard for our money and it really infuriates me when you ruin the food.

I will never shop at safeway again they need to hire enough staff to run a store they cant rely on faulty self check out only and have one person running around trying to fix three different machines while there is an endless line. I walked out leaving my broccoli and will never return due to this evil method of management.

Worst safeway ever, i live close so have to come here, self check out is limited to 15 items then they only have one line open EVERY TIME with the slowest and chattiest cashier which is every checker they have, they literally average scanning 2-3 items a minute not caring they have a long line, this is the normal for this store, if u need more than 15 items do ur self a favor and go somewhere else! You’ll thank me later

I’m writing this because what I experienced at this Safeway — and at many others over the past 8 years — is a clear pattern of racial profiling and harassment that needs to be exposed. On October 15, 2025, I walked into the Lloyd Center Safeway to use the BottleDrop kiosk. As I was finishing my transaction, two security guards — one of them a scraggly, dirty-looking blonde woman — suddenly showed up behind me, speaking loudly with her partner and clearly watching me. They weren’t there when I arrived. They didn’t approach me, ask anything, or offer help — they just stood there, watching like I was a threat for simply being brown and Indian. This wasn’t about loss prevention — it was racial targeting. I’ve experienced this same behavior from Safeway security and staff at different locations for the past eight years. Meanwhile, white individuals, including visibly unhoused people who are known to steal, are often ignored or treated with compassion. That’s the double standard. That’s how racial bias works. Safeway continues to be part of the new Jim Crow system — where surveillance and suspicion are directed at Black and brown people while white folks are given the benefit of the doubt. These stores may not hang signs saying "Whites Only," but they make it very clear who they see as suspicious. Robert Miller, the CEO of Safeway, is accountable for this. If this kind of behavior wasn’t tolerated from the top, it wouldn’t keep happening. The fact that it’s continued for years shows it’s not just bad employees — it’s a culture that allows racial profiling to thrive unchecked. Enough is enough. I’m tired of being followed, watched, and made to feel like a criminal for doing what everyone else does — shop, recycle, and exist. White people can walk in, fill up their own bags with unpaid items, and walk right out — and the white security guards won’t say a word. They’re allowed to steal in plain sight, while Black and Brown people get followed, watched, and treated like criminals for doing absolutely nothing wrong. This will stay up until someone realizes that this is illegal and violates my civil liberties. This happens at all Safeways.
