Lord I had the chicken dirty rice & corn pudding lawddd I tried to come the next day and yall are closed then I tried to come back today and yall close again I wanna cry. I NEED MORE FOOD FROM YALL. Listen you all are the best down home cooking I’ve had here I WILL BE RETURNING. Btw I got so sad walking away seeing yall was closed I’ll starve until yall are open tomorrow ❤️🫶🏽

The food was absolutely exquisite, and the family‑style atmosphere made the whole place feel warm, welcoming, and genuine. The red snapper was so flavorful that I didn’t dip it in the tartar sauce a single time — and that says a lot. Every dish had real depth and seasoning, from start to finish. This spot is honestly one of Portland’s best‑kept secrets. The quality of the food doesn’t match the price in the best way possible — you get way more than you pay for. La Bontemps is a win‑win all the way around, and I’m already looking forward to going back.
