  They have good customer service and this has no reflection on the employees doing their job, it’s general feedback on how the company operates… one of the doors was locked when I tried going in so it’s not wheelchair friendly. I ordered a toasted bagel with butter and avocado today. I took my order to go and left upon receiving my food. When I was ready to eat it I realized that the bagel was wrapped in foil, and then slipped into a paper bag. The avocado was in a separate cup container with a lid. I unwrapped my bagel which looked buttery because the outside was shiny and I could see it dripping and went to take a bite thinking it was buttered and because I wasn’t given a knife I’d have to dip my bagel into the avocado, I actually bit into a foil package of butter that was placed inside the middle of my toasted bagel… I spit out the bite and looked and there were two butter packets sitting inside my bagel still wrapped up that had been melting out of the packaging. Definitely could have been more harmful to me than it was… I don’t see this as a common practice at other coffee shops or cafes and typically your food is prepared for you. I was not given a knife and I didn’t know I was going to need to prepare my food. I gave up and chose not to eat. I personally wouldn’t recommend going there and I don’t plan on going back. Also, seems like a huge waste of resources? Why the foil and bag and individually packaged butters and avocado in a separate container to then need a knife? Huge waste of money, safety issues obviously and so much trash produced from that… could have just buttered my bagel and smeared the avocado, placed it in the paper bag that I can recycle and no issues… being you’re in a city that cares deeply about our sustainability, please look at this way of operating.

  So glad Jim & Patty’s is back and better than ever! We had eggs Benedict and the Dancing Goat on a biscuit. Excellent. Thank you.

  I wanted to love this place since I love the story of Jim & Patty's. Maybe they're just working out some kinks at this new location. They didn't have a lot of things. It wasn't clear which sandwiches were breakfast & which were considered lunch. No soup, despite what was listed online. No croissants as a bread choice. Despite the plethora of ingredients on the Sicilian, the tastes got lost in the biscuit and it ended up tasting dry. The chai was overly sweet and had no spice flavor. And there was no protein powder for the smoothie I ordered. The service was ok. The cashier was nice. But the other two staff members were unfriendly & didn't make eye contact. In fact, one seemed kind of annoyed when I asked if the sandwich on the counter was mine (I didn't hear them call my name). Overall, there are so many great choices for brunch & coffee in Portland. The execution here was not up to the level of many places out there. I hope that it's just a phase & they make some adjustments. I did feel the pricing was quite reasonable.
