Fantastic bagel, just be aware that they are not New York style lol. You will never find a bagel like in the north east outside of the North East because the water is different. But the space is cool, little hole in the wall bagel shop, bagels are good, staff is nice. Massive amount of cream cheese and pretty affordable 😁just don’t expect New York lol.

Great place to work once you get the hang of things. The people tormenting people while they work either around the neighborhood or thru their electronic devices like the radio in the back and the air compressor needs to go. Other than that it seemed ok. I didn’t talk to anyone because of what those people were saying but for the most part they were nice. The cookies and stuff that were given to me when I first started working there to take home and try were great! I don’t do poppy seeds because I’m really big into recovery but I tried their scone anyway. It was great! Sorry I wasn’t a good fit. I hope you get rid of those horrible content creators. They are bad for peoples health, psyche and business. Keep the back door shut and locked because they said they were coming in and doing things to the dough or taking yeast. I heard that if you make a good batch and introduce a tiny bit of that good batch to the next… that even if they take yeast… the dough make up will adhere to the build of the proper make up of the tiny bit of dough you threw in. It could be an old wives tales. Thanks for trying to help me have a job at least for a little bit. - do your bins - do all your boards for the day - and you’ll be able to do almost 5 batches in an hour if nothing stops you and no one comes behind you and ruins your machine. - more if you have helper. I didn’t. - one last thing and I’ll stop adding… lift it up and do it… don’t do it on the table… you won’t ever waste any… - sorry I’m not the stand around type. I never have been. I’m a bust butt and get everything done and go home type. ❤️‍🩹

The bagels are super chewy and hard. But edible. One thing that really bothers me about this place is the service. They are always so cold and not engaging at all. No thank yous ever and when I say thank you I’m ignored. I’m really turned off by the hipster Portland “I’m better than you” attitude.

Best bagels in Portland. NYC born and raised, and have tried just about all the bagel shops in Portand. Henry Higgins comes closest to the H&H bagels i grew up with on the upper west side. Many others commented (grumbled) here about their service, and while i don't disagree, i go here for the bagels. Just the bagels. Bakers dozen - let's goooo!

When you're in the mood for breakfast bagels, this is a great neighborhood spot. They have some benches outside and some seating inside. I go for the bacon egg and cheese bagel.
