Our first visit was exceptional, highlighted by gracious, attentive service and a relaxed atmosphere. We returned on a much busier evening, and while the dining room carried a noticeably different energy. The prime rib is an absolute must—beautifully prepared, richly flavorful, and unquestionably the standout on the menu. One note of disappointment was the salad served in the cheese bowl, which arrived cold and would have benefited from being freshly prepared. On the other hand, the bread was clearly fresh-baked, warm, and well executed. We would return specifically for the prime rib.

One of the most bizarrely disappointing, and unnecessarily long, dining experiences I’ve ever had that ended in food poisoning and questionable billing.
I made my reservation three weeks in advance and noted that it was for my birthday. We were greeted promptly by valet and hostesses, but then waited 15–20 minutes past our reservation time despite multiple open tables. Eventually, we were told they were holding a nicer window table for us and asked we wait at the bar. The bartender was excellent—friendly, attentive, and wished me a happy birthday when he saw our reservation info.
We were finally sat at our table about 30-45 minutes past our reservation time. While we heard other tables being asked if they were celebrating anything special, the server didn’t acknowledge my birthday. Immediately after we ordered wine, an appetizer, and our entrees the server asked if we wanted dessert, which felt rushed.
When the server brought our bottle of wine, she opened it, put a small tasting size in each of our glasses, said "I will let you pour the rest yourselves" and walked away before we tasted it. Luckily, we liked the wine.
Our appetizer and bread were fine, but after we finished them, our empty plates and water glasses sat untouched for about 20 minutes. We couldn’t find our server anywhere and assumed no one was covering her section. When she returned, she asked if we wanted our wine packaged to go and asked if we wanted desert or the check—even though we hadn’t received our entrees yet. When I reminded her we were waiting for entrees, she laughed and brushed it off.
After 30-45 minutes after she tried to send us away without our entrees – during which she disappeared again - our entrees were finally delivered by someone from the kitchen with no explanation or apology for why they had taken over 1.5 hours to arrive after we had submitted our order. The risotto was fine, the mushrooms were bland, and the prime rib had an overcooked, boiled texture with no juice or flavor while the mashed potatoes were cold and hard, like it had been left under a heatlamp and forgotten.
When we sent the prime rib back, the server questioned whether we knew what we ordered and lectured us that prime rib isn’t ribeye—an unnecessary and rude response, especially since we love the prime rib at Jake’s and I worked in a fine dining steakhouse for years. The server said she would get a manager, but then disappeared again and no manager ever came over though we saw him standing at a computer. After waiting 15 minutes for the manager to come over, my partner had to approach him to explain the issues we were having. The manager simply said we were the first complaint about the prime rib of the night and removed the item. No apologies or effort to make up for what was now over 2 hours of sitting at the table.
When the server arrived to remove the prime rib, she offered us a complimentary dessert given the issue with the steak. We declined as we didn’t want to extend dinner any longer. Since my partner was still finishing his glass of wine, the server asked if I would instead like a glass of wine and gave me a recommendation which I agreed to. I assumed this would be complimentary, but our final bill reflected we were charged $25 for this glass of wine, the most expensive on the menu and almost half the price of the bottle of wine we ordered.
Late that night, we both became very sick from the food and suspect food poisoning since Chart House was the only time that we had shared a meal in over 24 hours. I reported the suspected food poisoning and our service issues to Landry’s one month ago. As they have not responded, I am sharing this review to warn others about Chart House. Char House is not anywhere near the standards of Jake’s Grill or Jake’s Crawfish - and it is clear staff and management don't care - and it is shocking that it is a Landry’s location.
