  This rating is based on one specific incident at this store, not the Safeway as a whole. We purchased Valentine’s Day plants from Safeway florist and later learned they were deadly toxic to pets…but not in time. Both of our kittens required emergency ICU care, resulting in thousands of dollars in vet bills and a heartbreaking and traumatic experience for our family. This also resulted in both missed school and work for our family. I understand that many plants can be harmful to animals, but I encourage the store to consider clear labeling for pet-toxic plants that are ornamental, especially deadly ones that don’t even require ingestion to kill pets, and to offer more pet-safe options—especially around holidays. Simple warning signs could help prevent this type of horrible event from happening to other families and their furry companions.

  Usually I like this store. It's in the heart of Lake Oswego and has a very neighborhood feel. Not today. The checkout gal had an attitude. She never smiled. Never said doc I'll find everything okay? The only thing out of her mouth was a look of disdain at my bag and to tell me it smelled. I couldn't smell a thing. Perhaps next time a little more friendly customer service.

  I'm sorry, I did not enjoy my visit @this Safeway location. The aisles are extremely narrow and it seems mngmnt isn't using their critical thinking: having stockers in the already narrow aisles with their stock carts in the middle of the lanes (some which don't bother moving aside when we're crowded up). It felt extremely claustrophobic and I couldn't finish my shopping-either bc SW didn't stock it or bc I cut the visit short due to claustrophobia. I cannot recommend this location. The added star is bc the staff were friendly.

  Usually,I absolutely love this store. Most people here are friendly (other people think you’re stealing while you’re at self check out and it’s really insulting). Pharmacy,PLEASE ANSWER YOUR PHONES! I’m trying to pick up my medication at a Safeway that’s closer to me. This Safeway (401 A),has filled it and I’m trying to tell them to cancel it. I don’t want to pay out of pocket because this pharmacy won’t answer their phones. I’m aware that some incredibly amazing people have left, but please ANSWER YOUR PHONES. Edit: the person who picked up the phone was incredibly hostile with me when I asked to have my medication transferred. I don’t appreciate being talked to in that manner. I understand that they are severely understaffed (I called the front desk and they mentioned that the pharmacy people they are sending in have decided to not answer phones but the person in pharmacy said she was by herself on the morning?!) I expected kindness and professionalism
