I live a few blocks away from this Safeway so i shop here every time I need groceries since i don't own a car and it's a quick walk from my house. I'm so glad that they are a store i enjoy shopping at. I take my wagon with me to get my groceries home and while I shop I just load my groceries into my wagon then go through a cashier when I'm finished. I have noticed that they expect you to bag your own groceries lately and they never have cashiers in the normal checkout lanes. At night they just have 2 cashiers that work in the household department where they have laundry supplies, cleaning supplies, toiletries and wine. So it's kind of awkward to go into that department to pay when you have more than 15 items and can't use the self check out. But other than that I like this store and I can always find everything I'm looking for and if I need help the employees are always happy to show you where to find what you're looking for.

It’s noon on Monday, I tried to shop for a few groceries at the Safeway in King City. I was confronted with pallets upon pallets of products blocking most aisles from the dairy section to the deli. It’s utter chaos on top of a store that is already completely cluttered with unnecessary displays that block shoppers path. I just wanted to get a few items and every where I turned there was a Safeway employee “shopping” with their big carts or stocking shelves with pallets in the way. At noon. Whatever happened to stocking shelves in the early morning before the store opens or it gets busy? I can understand restocking during the day, but this is a whole level utter disregard for Safeway customers. I ended up just leaving the cart where it was and walking out. I would give this no stars if that was possible.

Money services is the worst I have ever seen. No one is ever there, you ring the bell on the counter but it clearly isn't hooked up because no one ever comes. You stand there for like 40 minutes and all the cashiers and everyone around see’s you standing there and they don't say or do anything or call for anyone, so you have to walk around and look for someone if you can find them. It's so bad.

TO BE CLEAR- This review is specifically about the pharmacy situation and NOT the people that work there. The staff in the pharmacy have always been wonderful, especially Amy. But I’ve had my meds here for 3 years now & am finally switching them (and my family’s) to Costco. This pharmacy is chronically & negligently understaffed. Calling to speak to someone in the pharmacy is almost impossible sometimes, more often than not you just get a message saying the mailbox is full. Sometimes someone will pick up but then immediately disconnect the call because they’re too busy to take it. I understand that. I don’t blame them. Coming in person is even worse. Every single time I’ve come in to pick up a prescription this year, whether it’s 9-11 am or anytime after 3 pm the line always has at least 8 people in it and the wait is extreme. It should not take 40 minutes to pick up a single prescription. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. It’s not the fault of the staff working behind the counter- it’s clear they know what they’re doing and working their hardest. I’m completely shocked the staff hasn’t all walked out on you yet, Safeway corporate, because at this point I wouldn’t blame them a bit. I’ve been standing in this line for almost 40 minutes now - there were 9 people in line front of me. Now there are at least12 behind me and it’s always like this. WAKE UP CORPORATE! TAKE CARE OF THIS! YOUR PHARMACY EMPLOYEES DESERVE BETTER SUPPORT AND YOU’RE COMPLETELY FAILING THEM. And if you haven’t figured this out yet- when you fail your employees you’re failing your customers. You need to fix this.
