Upon arrival, customers were instructed to place orders using the kiosk, as the front register was not in use. After placing my order, I approached the pickup area and picked up a drink that appeared to match my order.
A staff member, who I believe was a manager, immediately responded in a dismissive and disrespectful manner. She pointed abruptly to signage labeled “mobile/delivery,” rolled her eyes, and spoke to me as though I was incompetent. When I asked for clarification, she rudely stated that I had already received my drink, which was inaccurate. She was referring to the drink I had picked up, assuming it was mine because it was identical to what I ordered.
Instead of calmly resolving the situation, she escalated it speaking condescendingly, implying I had done something wrong, and refusing to simply replace the drink. When I asked how I was supposed to receive my drink if not from that area, she responded that staff would bring it to me, but continued to be unnecessarily hostile over what was a very minor issue.
I then sat down and waited for my order, following her instruction not to take items from the pickup area. After approximately 20 minutes and after my sister, who ordered after me, had already received her food. I went to check on my order. I discovered it had been sitting in the mobile/delivery pickup area the entire time. My name was never called.
Had I followed her instructions and not checked, my food would have continued to sit there. When I attempted to address this, the same staff member dismissed me and said, “you have your food now,” with no apology or concern about the delay or food quality.
The situation became more concerning when I asked for her name and she refused to provide it. Additionally, another employee began recording me and my family on a personal phone, which was highly inappropriate and escalated the situation further. This same employee was also disrespectful toward us in front of a full lobby.
During the interaction, staff used profanity toward us and made inappropriate hand gestures as we were leaving.
The situation escalated further when staff threatened to call the police rather than de-escalate or take accountability. When I responded that I was willing to involve law enforcement myself,
especially given that my husband is a police officer and I felt we were being harassed, they denied making the threat. They then attempted to file a complaint against my husband, who was not present and had no involvement in the incident.
This experience was highly unprofessional, unnecessarily escalated, and completely inappropriate, especially in front of my children, who were frightened by the behavior they witnessed.
I am requesting:
* A follow-up regarding this incident
* Clarification on employee conduct policies, including recording customers
* Appropriate accountability for the staff involved
This situation could have been resolved easily, but instead escalated due to staff behavior that was dismissive, confrontational, and unprofessional.
