As I was walking out of the store, one of the associates, named Mike, stopped me and asked if I had paid for the items and requested to see my receipt. I showed him my receipt, but I felt upset and embarrassed by the situation. I have shopped at this store many times and have never been stopped or asked for a receipt here or at any other store. Because of how uncomfortable the situation made me feel, I returned to the store to speak with a manager. The same individual who stopped me identified himself as the manager. When I told him that I would report the incident to corporate, he told me, “If you don’t like it, don’t come back to the store again.” I found this behavior unprofessional and disrespectful, and the experience made me feel unwelcome as a customer.
