I understand a few here in there but at this point it feels like they've just given up caring. Even in the children food section. Several items well passed due date.

- ASashley stovinFeb 26, 20261.0Just now went through the self checkout with 5 small items, the machine refused my debit card, stood there looking around for the cashier, waited a good 5 mins, the woman working that station (dark hair, maybe 50 yrs old) took her sweet time to walk over and help me. I nicely explained there was plenty of money on the card but it had probably exceeded the limit and handed her a 20 dollar bill. She proceeded to SLOWLY pull out 4 dollars and some change, she repeatedly counted the four 1 dollar bills at least 3 times with maybe 60 cents in her hand before I grabbed MY bills (left the change) and walked out. Im not the sweetest person in the world but I in no way was rude or disrespectful. This woman seemed on a vengeance for absolutely no reason. Its like walking into a store and watching the cashier count 10 dollars in pennies! Absolutely unacceptable!!

The SE Portland Safeway had security guards. One way in and one way and if you didn't go those specific directions an alarm would sound. Almost like herding cattle feeling. But this Safeway did not feel like that at all. It was clean, organized and staff was polite.
