  New systems not working with coupons They are either doing inventory or remodeling because the store was packed with workers, and stuff was everywhere Store was a mess and hard to get around all the aisles. What should have been a quick trip (3 items) took over 20 minutes. I bought more at Fred's in less time

  This was one of the most disturbing retail experiences I’ve ever had. I watched one of your employees get publicly humiliated at the checkout line over a dress code issue, right in front of customers. It was completely unprofessional, unnecessary, and frankly demeaning. No employee deserves to be embarrassed like that in their workplace, especially not as some kind of spectacle. What’s even worse is what happened when I tried to do the right thing and report it. I made multiple attempts to escalate this issue beyond the store level because I did not feel comfortable reporting the incident to the same manager responsible for it. Customer service refused to provide any district manager contact information or even pass along my complaint. Instead, I was funneled right back to the store. When I tried calling, the manager in question simply refused to answer. I then contacted HR, thinking surely they would take a complaint about the public mistreatment of an employee seriously. They refused to even take the report and directed me-again-back to the store. The same store. The same manager. So let me get this straight: an employee gets publicly humiliated, a customer witnesses it and tries to report it, and your entire system is designed to protect the person responsible while blocking any meaningful accountability. That is unacceptable. This isn’t just poor customer service. It reflects a deeply broken management and HR process that discourages accountability and enables inappropriate behavior. I went out of my way to advocate for your employee and was met with nothing but deflection and avoidance at every level. Do better.

  Safeway is expensive The only way you can save money is if you buy more than what you can actually use because they try to get you to buy three of something just save money but you might not want to buy three of something and if you only buy one it's expensive. And they're 5 for $20 sales is not really a bargain because some of the things you can actually get 5 for less than $20 at Winco

  I like shopping at Safeway because it’s close to home and the cashiers are always friendly. However, I recommend double checking your receipt before leaving. I regularly use the app and clip digital coupons, but there have been many occasions where the discounted price didn’t apply correctly at checkout. It’s frustrating, especially when coupons are essential to keeping grocery costs manageable. I’ve caught several errors only because I reviewed my receipt carefully, so it’s definitely worth taking a moment to check.
