  I like shopping at Safeway because it’s close to home and the cashiers are always friendly. However, I recommend double checking your receipt before leaving. I regularly use the app and clip digital coupons, but there have been many occasions where the discounted price didn’t apply correctly at checkout. It’s frustrating, especially when coupons are essential to keeping grocery costs manageable. I’ve caught several errors only because I reviewed my receipt carefully, so it’s definitely worth taking a moment to check.

  Don't know why i keep shopping here. Their shopping carts lock up on you while leaving with your groceries 70% of the time, making it a huge inconvenience. Had to carry 5 gallons of milk by hand cause their carts kept locking up.

  I try not to give bad reviews but I have enjoyed the oriental food in several of Safeway deli departments. This was the worst ever. Noodles were severely over cooked with no flavor the Kung pow the same.

  I have been a loyal Safeway customer for more than a decade, and I’ve always appreciated the convenience and service your stores provide. However, in recent months I’ve noticed a troubling decline in management professionalism at the Albany location. On multiple occasions, I have witnessed the store manager, Steve V., yelling at and berating employees in the store. His behavior has been loud, aggressive, and completely inappropriate for a workplace — especially in front of customers. No employee should be subjected to that kind of treatment. I have called the store several times to report these incidents, but nothing has changed. Because most complaints are routed directly to him, it appears that these concerns are never properly addressed or escalated. The conduct I’ve observed is unacceptable and reflects poorly on Safeway as a company. I am submitting this review in hopes that corporate will conduct a genuine, independent investigation into his behavior. Employees deserve a respectful work environment, and customers should not have to witness this kind of hostility while shopping. I strongly urge Safeway corporate leadership to take this matter seriously and take appropriate action.

  The Asian hot food case has really gone down in quality. Today I got a supreme combo. The egg roll AND the fried rice were freezer burned. I don't normally spit food out but it was so bad the filling was mush. The rice looked like it was steamed and freezer burned bagged mixed veggies were stirred in. They actually used to care about what they were presenting to customers. It's grocery store Chinese food, but it shouldn't ever violate the most basic of usda safety rules. One of my favorite quick meals is now ruined. At least I managed a few bites of the chicken that most definitely wasn't at proper food handling temperature. None of it was at safe temperature.
