“The food quality at this location is so concerning that I believe food safety authorities should investigate immediately.”
I ordered the beef barbacoa, and it was very poorly prepared. The meat was cold, clumped together, and looked like it had been sitting for a long time. The tomatoes were clearly out of date and had an unpleasant smell — definitely not fresh and honestly concerning from a health standpoint.
I’m genuinely worried I might get food poisoning after eating this. Food quality and safety should be a priority, and this location completely failed in both areas.
Based on what I received (see attached photos), this place needs a serious inspection — if things don’t improve, I wouldn’t be surprised if it has to shut down.
Overall: very disappointing and unsafe meal. I will not be returning.

i love chipotle and was so excited for the durham location to open since i usually always go to the one on yonge and dundas. but this location was straight up awful. me and my mom went today and the staff literally could care less about the people they were serving, and halfway through making my bowl one of the employees closed it and pushed it towards the register and all it had was rice and beans so far?? when i told her i hadn’t even fished ordering she snapped at me and told me she didn’t know but that’s literally your job?
after we paid for our half filled bowls we waited over ten minutes to get a side of hot salsa that i ordered with my chips. the employee was ignoring the cashier and started wiping down the table instead. i know this location is brand new but i rather not pay $50 for a meal that’s half full and get disrespected by staff who aren’t trained properly :(

I love chipotle, was super excited that whitby had one now. Visited last evening. Long line ups, which is expected.
There was a 30 min wait time. The place was dirty as none of the tables were cleaned. The floor was horrible.
Finally reached to order the chicken bowl. The staff is all new and not experienced. I was shocked with the quantity portions. I shamelessly even asked to add more rice, more pinto beans pls etc LOL 😆
But I must say food preparation counters were soo dirty. Food fallen everywhere, they don't clean it at all. I have gone to so many chipotle outlets this is by far the worst experience I have had. To top it all at the end they even charged me extra for meat which I never asked or got.
Finally waiting another 10 mins to get a refund for that.
I plan to go after a month or so, sure the staff will be well trained by then..so that I can stop myself from jumping across the counter n filling up my bowl myself 😆
Love u Chipotle.. wish u read the reviews n improve the outlet service PLEASE 🙏

My son and I went the first day it was open. There was a long line but to be expected. We enjoyed our food. No issues. Then I went back today with a friend and the food was so so, the tortilla chips were stale. The reason for this review is to say I was shocked how under staffed it was today on a Saturday and how dirty the restaurant was. For the hour I was there, 30 minute wait and 30 minutes eating, none of the tables were wiped off. Every table was dirty. Floors were dirty and there was garbage on the ground. The foundation drink area was a mess. And the worse part was the counter where they were making food and checking people out on. I understand they were busy but the counters were disgusting and dirty, sliding the bowls across the dirty counter. There were hardly any drinks in the case and the case was also extremely dirty. My burrito bowl lid and container were grungy. Making order after order with no clean up and the same gloves. Yikes. I appreciate the employees that were working hard and quickly. However, I will be hesitating going back because of the condition of the food surfaces and dirtiness of the seating area. Hope they can make this right moving forward. Whitby loves having a Chipotle in Whitby.

What the heck? I ordered through skip the dishes. For once the Skip service was decent and prompt so the food arrive hot. The bill for what you see was $125 plus tax. I’m gonna ground my grown children for a month for suggesting we order from here. First off the portion sizes are so small. Every burrito should weigh the same. I don’t want beans so mine is half the size? Add for rice or lettuce? I go next door to Firehouse and I’m getting a huge sandwich, chips and pop for the same price as a burrito with guacamole. So I think we established you get very little for paying a lot. Now the flavour. Meh. The carne asada wasn’t flavourful, the salsa was boring. The only highlight was the queso. Oh, and the “large” bag of chips? Someone in your life is disappointed Chipotle. Such a nothing burger all the excitement around this place. I’ll be back never. I’m gonna go kick my dog I’m so upset. (I’d never kick my dog, but geez I’m ticked off)
