I asked the employee if any fresh lettuce was available. She went to the back and returned with another container, which was in the same unacceptable condition. I also observed that the tomatoes and cucumbers appeared to have gone bad. Given the state of the ingredients, I cancelled my order and left. I can honestly say this is the first time I have ever had to walk out of a restaurant due to food quality concerns. Unfortunately, this experience aligns with a broader decline in quality I’ve noticed at Subway locations recently. At another location, I was previously served extremely stale bread, and when I raised the issue, no refund or replacement was offered. As a result, I stopped visiting that location, and I will now be doing the same with the Laurelwood location. It is deeply concerning that a restaurant whose slogan is “Eat Fresh” would have multiple visibly spoiled ingredients on the line. When fresh ingredients were requested, the replacement provided was no better. This is not only misleading but disturbing and unsanitary for paying customers. Due to the seriousness of this incident, I will be leaving an honest public review and reporting this matter to the Public Health Department.
