  I’ve been to State & Main many times and have generally had good experiences, which is why this visit was so disappointing. From the moment we sat down, our waitress, Nicky (or Nikita), was rude and unwelcoming. When my order was brought out incorrectly and I politely pointed it out, her demeanor was off putting and quite uptight. She gave me a look as if I had made the mistake, which made me feel uncomfortable and honestly like a second class customer. When I asked for her name, her response was even more shocking. She was very short with me and said, “why do you want to know my name?” in an extremely offensive tone. That level of attitude is completely unacceptable in a customer facing role. Paid the bill & spoke to the Manager who did apologize and offered a free dessert. While I appreciated the gesture, my intention was to escalate this properly. I contacted customer service and was told a District Manager would follow up within a few days. That never happened! It’s disappointing to feel overlooked as a returning customer who regularly supports this business. I came in to enjoy a simple dinner with my child after a long day, and instead left feeling frustrated and disregarded. I hope this is taken seriously and addressed, as service like this does not reflect the standards you would expect

  Stopped in for appetizers and a beverage on Friday afternoon. Moderately busy. Our server was happy to extend the happy hour prices to us even though we were a few minutes early. The food was delicious and the service was attentive. There was a misunderstanding about an item on our order and our server corrected it in our favour without any issue. Justin came by and enquired about our experience and made us feel very welcome. Unfortunately, we don't live nearby or we would certainly return. Highly recommend this location.

  Really good food but Poor service . I’m not able to give 0 star .Today got a bad experience with our service at the end of our meal.Our server was upset and not very attentive. We didn’t expect she will provide any good service. She didn’t ask if our food was ok or provide any service.When we requested the bill, she gave us the bill and said we have to pay a minimum of 18% gratuity. Mentioned the bill doesn’t include tip and kept telling us to pay 18% tips. We can’t understand that why she saying that. She may thinking that we won’t tip her any?She was kind of forcing us to pay more tips and making us feel more pressure & uncomfortable. Not coming back.

  This was our first time visiting - we visit a lot of restaurants but I must say this has been our favourite so far - it’s about an hour from us but totally worth the drive. Yaron was our server and hands down the best we have experienced, the manager (I didn’t catch his name) was also amazing, between the 2 of them they made sure we were taken care of. To top it off, the food was amazing We will be back

  The service was great. The food was good The venue was nice The price? Like most restaurants today. It’s become smaller portions and higher prices. No fault of the servers and chefs and managers that work very hard in a currently very tough industry of rising costs and greedy landlords with their high rents putting so much pressure on places to meet all the cost demands. Well done State & Main. It’s a tough game out there My 2 sense Jeff Toronto
