I’m extremely disappointed with my second poor experience at this NEW Taco Bell (Rutherford & Keele).
The first time, I ordered two Supreme Taco Combos and received tacos with barely half a portion of meat and containers that were half-filled with fries. I gave the benefit of the doubt and decided to try again last night. Unfortunately, it was the same issue, poor quality and very skimpy portions. This time I ordered two combos, an extra taco, and a Chicken Avocado Stacker, nearly $40 of my hard-earned money for dinner.
When I got back to my condo and opened the food, I immediately noticed the same lack of quality. I tried calling the store several times, but the phone just rang busy just like during my first experience.
When I finally spoke to two employees who said they were the store manager and shift manager, I was bounced back and forth between them. One offered a single free combo and a coupon, which is not sufficient considering I purchased two combos plus additional items. She then said I could get a full refund with a receipt but I was never given a receipt with my order. I asked her to check the system using the exact time of purchase and my debit card transaction, but she refused.
Instead, I was told in an extremely rude manner that I “don’t understand,” that I ate the food and just want free food, that they are “not a charity,” and questioned why I didn’t immediately drive back that night. I explained that I live in a condo and only noticed the issue once I got home tired after a long day of work. I wasn’t going to waste more time, energy, money, and gas driving back after already spending nearly $40.
The lack of food quality is one issue but the dismissive and accusatory customer service is completely unacceptable. I gave this location a second chance and was treated poorly for raising a legitimate concern.
Very disappointing experience overall.
