- JJJJFeb 8, 20263.0I've been spoiled by previous years at the Burger Shack, I suppose, before having to go GF now due to recent diagnosis(genetic). So. Thought I'd try their GF offerings. Staff asks "Is it a preference or allergy?" Which I guess is to trigger a set of preparation Potocols. (Would be nice if they explained the difference.) Of course I am *not* GF by choice, so I responded allergy. Was excited to finally eat a takeout burger & poutine that didn't give me problems later.....wrong. I won't go into details, but those in my same situation will know what I mean when I say my weekend is ruined, to say the least.. Insofar as food goes- my burger was thin & dry, the amount of toppings scant. The fries in the poutine were pale & soft- so the cheese barely melted. The shake was delicious-albiet small. If CS responds here-my suggestions are to have staff advise on protocols, update online ordering so one can put in "allergy" in one's orders, & maybe do some redecorating. All black is tiresome in 2026. As far as amount of ingredients- I'm sure you can't do much about that with the price of food here. I looked at review pics from 6 yrs ago & the burgers looked much thicker & the toppings plentiful! Oh well. TLDR-food is probably acceptable for most.
