I recently ordered a half long Veggie Patty Sub at this Subway location, and the experience was extremely disappointing. The crew member completely forgot to add the veggie patty — the main ingredient I paid for. When I pointed it out politely, instead of fixing the mistake, he told me he would charge extra for adding the patty, even though I had already paid for it.
When I questioned this, he refused to correct the order and said, “Keep that with you, I’ll make another one but I’ll charge you for it.” This response was shocking and completely unprofessional. It’s unbelievable that an employee representing such a global brand has no understanding of basic customer service or accountability.
I strongly urge management to look into this incident seriously. Staff should be properly trained to treat customers with respect and handle simple order corrections appropriately. Experiences like this not only damage customer trust but also the reputation of the Subway brand itself.

The Subway on Bloor really stands out as a location that could use some serious updating. From the moment you walk in, you can tell the space feels old and worn down. The décor and overall setup look dated, and it doesn’t have that clean, modern feel that many other Subway locations now offer. It honestly gives off the impression that it hasn’t been refreshed in years, which takes away from the dining experience.
Cleanliness was also an issue during my visit. The counters and prep area didn’t look as spotless as they should, and the seating area felt a little messy and unkempt. It’s not that the store was completely dirty, but it lacked that crisp, well-maintained look that makes customers feel comfortable eating inside.
Another major concern was the freshness of the produce. The vegetables didn’t look vibrant or crisp, and some items seemed like they had been sitting out for too long. For a brand that emphasizes fresh ingredients, that’s a big letdown. When you’re ordering a sandwich, you want to feel confident that the lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and other toppings are at their peak—not tired and wilted.
The service itself was fine—the staff were doing their jobs—but there wasn’t a lot of energy or engagement. It felt more like they were just going through the motions rather than creating a welcoming customer experience.
Overall, this location still delivers on the basics: you’ll get your sandwich, and it will be what you ordered. But the outdated look, messy feel, and lack of truly fresh produce make it hard to rate higher. With some renovations, better attention to cleanliness, and a stronger focus on ingredient quality, this Subway could really improve. Until then, it’s just an average spot at best.
