BURNED honey apple chicken.... Even the parts that weren't burned were pretty tasteless and the portion was small. There was a cold draft where our table was so we asked to be moved to a different table; there was stuff on the table and the waiter cleared the stuff without cleaning the table. I cleaned it myself. Later, he came to ask how everything was, but before I could look up and say anything he was already gone. The table to our left was complaining that their food was taking too long to arrive and the one to our right was also impatiently waiting. What a joke.

The female bartender was unfriendly and didn’t smile once. When I asked her for her opinion on which menu items were good, she didn’t bother to give me any recommendations. She didn’t ask for a starter option and still charged me the full price for the chicken Parmesan dinner. There was no quality check. The chicken parmesan was not crispy at all and barely any sauce on the noodles.

A very disappointing experience today. Though the staff was friendly, and tried to make up for it, sadly we will no longer return to The Pickle Barrel. The problems were numerous - inattentive waiter, first course brought with main course, causing main course to get cold, fridge cold vegetables, no cutlery given when food was dropped off by the manager, drink served in a dirty glass with lipstick on it, dessert forgotten for so long we took it to go, very slow service and under staffing for a Saturday afternoon in November. The manager gave a discount, but honestly, we are done with this chain all together. We are life long customers, for 50 years The Pickle Barrel was once a destination for our family, but we can no longer support it. Selling out to big corporations ruins great family restaurants. Save your money and eat somewhere else.

I went there for a game seven of the Blue Jays World Series on November 1. The atmosphere was excellent. I think they got a new big screen behind the bar and it was awesome. I had a seat directly in front of the big screen and it felt like I was at the game! Your sandwiches are fantastic. I have the Montreal smoked meat and the pickles are awesome. My server Max was incredible even though it was jampacked and The place was out of control with enthusiastic Bluejay fans. Thanks for a great time.

We came for my father’s birthday. Arrived at 9pm. The place was completely empty besides one other table that we could see. When we arrived there was no one there to greet us. I had to stop someone that walked by that looked like they might work there. The menu options were good. Could definitely be better maybe expand the dessert menu. Only one person in our table barely touched their food. They had order lemon herb chicken, they found the vegetables to be dry and overcooked, and the pasta just didn’t taste good. We were there just before they closed, however when we asked for a baileys the server mentioned he could only offer us Colombian coffee because the rest of the staff had gone home.
