Six of us went for lunch and all six were disappointed! The waitress was ok but clearly had to many tables as she never came back once to check once meals were delivered, my niece ordered pasta which looked like it was dropped on the floor and thrown back in the bowl, with no offer of cheese or anything, my SIL ordered an overpriced grilled cheese that she could not eat as it was burnt and on whole wheat bread which she cannot eat but was not given an option of bread choices and my burger was the equivalent of eating a hockey puck which clearly came from a box, the lettuce on it was brown and that was all that was on it … this was the most disappointing and over priced meal we have ever had ! We will never be back!

Pickle barrel has definitely gone downhill. I made reservations on valentines day. They said they were behind and we would have to wait 10 min . Ok fine no problem. So we waited which turned into a half hour . We went back up to the front to ask and they didnt even remember us or our table or who i was since they didnt bother to put my name down. KEEP in mind I made a reservation.. waiting for 20 min for a waiter who by the way my husband had to go get up and FIND ONE who didnt even know what number our table was. We felt rushed and food was undercooked even tho it took forever to come. Spent so much money on food environment and atmosphere that was not even great . So disappointed and WILL NOT be coming back. I get its Valentines day but it felt really unprepared to me and the server even told us they were running out of glasses...Im giving two stars because the person who served us who i think wasn't even responsible for that area was so kind despite being overworked and stressed.

One of the worst reataurant experiences ive ever had. Came here on VALENTINES DAY for dinner , had to wait an extra 20 mins from my reservation to be sat, which would be understandable on a busy day HAD THERE NOT BEEN MULTIPLE EMPTY TABLES AROUND WHEN WE SAT. A pile of dishes near us remained uncleaned for nearly iur entire 2+ hr stay (photo taken when a worker finally got sent to pick it up), not to mention the dirty state of the floor the whole time as well. We sat at around 9:50 and ordered at almost 10:30 after asking for ‘5 more minutes’. Then girlfriend’s burger comes with sauce after ordering no sauce, so there goes a full remaking of her order while i eat away on my own, which they then brought back with A QUARTER of the fries (which were still essentially completely untouched whe they got sent back). Also ordered one of the items that come with a soup or salad and ofc nothing was offered or later brought to the table. Wonderful valentines experience truly.

We had a big gathering for colleagues ( more than 25 ) and they gave us a nice table. I like pickle Barrel and it has been a long time I didn't go there. Their prices are much higher than they were before and smaller portion ( which seems to be the trend these days at most restaurants ). Most of us liked their food but I was soooooo disappointed with the bowl I got. It was sooooo small ( big bowl and small quantity ingredients )... the rice was like sticking to itself.. veggies were not fresh at all and the chicken had most pieces old with some bad taste.. we had also chicken fingers which were good. I can say, avoid the bowls!!! Even though we were many, the waiter was able to take all orders, split the bills, got the food and drinks on time. He was really good and attentive in a way knowing that the place was busy. I remember when I used to go to their downtown location ( which closed ) and the eglinton one and order some type of Asian salad which I loved, the portion was HUGE and always sooo fresh. No the salads are sooo small and expensive... Will I go there again, maybe... to pay a total of like 30 to 35 dollars ( food + fountain drink + tips ) to eat chicken fingers that I can do at home for less than 10 dollars is too much. I am afraid to order something else and pay more and end up with something like the bowl we ordered. Photo attached. Note: photo attached of the bowl 😁 don't be fooled that it appears so big, it is really half the size it appears and the chips on top makes it look big :))

I’m writing to share some feedback regarding a recent experience at the Pickle Barrel Yorkdale location, which unfortunately did not meet the standard I had expected from a brand with multiple locations in the GTA. First, the server failed to ask about any potential allergies, which is a basic but crucial step in ensuring a safe and comfortable dining experience for all customers. Additionally, my husband ordered eggs and bacon, and while the eggs were cooked perfectly sunny side up, the menu description clearly stated “crispy bacon” and “peameal bacon,” yet the dish only came with regular bacon. When I brought this to the server’s attention, I was told that they typically serve regular bacon, but this wasn’t mentioned on the menu, nor did the server ask for a preference. As for my order of avocado toast, the bread was not the advertised 9-grain toast, but instead plain white bread. The spinach had no seasoning, and the eggs, which were meant to be poached, appeared to be steamed, which completely changed the texture and flavor. Small details like these are important for delivering a high-quality dining experience, and they were unfortunately overlooked. Lastly, after finishing our meal, I requested additional bread to enjoy with butter. We waited for 10-15 minutes but never received it, and when the bill was brought to us, the server seemed unaware that the bread request had not been fulfilled. While I’m not lodging a formal complaint, I believe it's essential to bring these details to your attention. The cumulative impact of these small oversights can have a bigger effect on your business over time, especially when customers expect consistency and attention to detail. I hope you will take this feedback into account to improve the dining experience at your Yorkdale location and ensure these issues are addressed. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, R.K.
