Delivery, however, turns two sandwiches and a soda into a drawn-out, Kafkaesque exercise in patience. This McDonald’s turns the ordinary into the absurd. Two McChickens and a Coke, delivered thirty minutes late, become a theatrical test of patience, a meditation on inefficiency, and a slow-motion performance art piece about modern life — all while tasting exactly the same as they would if you’d picked them up yourself. Fast food has never felt so unnecessarily dramatic.
